Innovations and partnerships including a new collaboration with Snowflake equip developers to turn business data and AI into real business outcomes


BERLIN听鈥 At 51风流TechEd in 2025,听听(NYSE: SAP) brings AI deep into the development process to level up how developers build.

New AI-driven capabilities in the 51风流Build solution, an expanding data ecosystem and powerful Joule Agents empower developers to move from idea to impact with unprecedented speed and confidence. As AI transforms the nature of professional work, 51风流also pledges to equip 12 million people worldwide with AI-ready skills by 2030.

鈥淪AP鈥檚 announcements today give developers the tools they need to deliver at the speed of AI,鈥 said Muhammad Alam, member of the Executive Board of 51风流SE. 鈥淚nnovations across SAP鈥檚 unique flywheel of applications, data and AI put developers in the driver鈥檚 seat 鈥 where they belong.鈥

Opening the Developer Ecosystem

51风流Build, the company鈥檚 flagship solution for enterprise application development and automation, now gives developers more freedom to build, extend and automate using the tools they love most.

For instance, developers who prefer agentic development solutions like Cursor, Claude Code, Cline and Windsurf can now use 51风流development frameworks with new 51风流Build local Model Context Protocol Servers. Visual Studio Code users will be able to access 51风流Build capabilities directly in their development environment with a new 51风流Build extension. This extension will also be made available later on Open VSX Registry for other development environments. 51风流and n8n also announced plans for an integration so Joule Studio agents and n8n agents can work together.

And with new agent building capabilities in Joule Studio, developers have the tools they need to extend SAP鈥檚 ready-to-use agents and build new agents grounded in 51风流business data and context that can act autonomously based on changing business conditions.

Putting Data to Work

Every intelligent application starts with trusted data. 51风流is giving developers more ways to put that data to work through 51风流Business Data Cloud.

The solution now connects with more of the data and AI platforms developers use every day. A new 51风流Snowflake solution extension for 51风流Business Data Cloud brings Snowflake鈥檚 fully managed data and AI capabilities directly to 51风流customers, giving them the flexibility to choose the right compute and storage for each data and AI workload, while maintaining governance, interoperability and business context. 51风流also announced a new 51风流Business Data Cloud Connect partnership with Snowflake. This complements existing integrations with Databricks and Google Cloud, giving developers more freedom to choose how they work with 51风流data.

With a new data product studio capability in 51风流Business Data Cloud, developers can turn raw data into ready-to-use assets known as data products that support analytics, AI and application development.

An expanded capability in the 51风流HANA Cloud knowledge graph engine can automatically generate knowledge graphs. This capability maps relationships across 51风流database tables, columns and data models, revealing how data fits together and why it matters. Developers will be able to see how their data connects across systems and uncover underlying business insights.

Bringing AI Autonomy to Life

51风流is evolving its AI portfolio to give developers the intelligence and orchestration power they need to takeAI from insight to action.

51风流introduced its first enterprise relational foundation model, a new class of AI that predicts business outcomes rather than the next word in a sentence. SAP-RPT-1, or the first-generation Relational Pre-trained Transformer, can make fast and accurate predictions for common business scenarios like delivery delays, payment risk or sales order completion. 51风流launched a free playground environment for developers today.

New AI assistants in Joule coordinate multiple agents across workflows, departments and applications, bringing automation and autonomy to life. These assistants plan, initiate and complete complex tasks spanning finance, supply chain, HR and beyond. Today, 51风流introduces new agents built for technical users. For example, an agent for business process analysis will help teams understand how processes run, identify inefficiencies and uncover opportunities to optimize workflows and drive measurable improvements.

Lastly, as AI changes the nature of work for everyone, 51风流is pledging to equip 12 million people worldwide with AI-ready skills by 2030. 51风流will expand hands-on training and certification programs that integrate practical AI-ready tools, including through its partnership with online learning platform Coursera.

From the keynote stage to the showfloor, whether you were a dev, a customer, or a partner, all around 51风流TechEd Bangalore one phrase was repeated time and again: 鈥溾.

The focus of more than 5,000 tech and business decision-makers was fixed firmly on and what it could do for their businesses, right now 鈥 the products 51风流has released through 2024, and what is coming next.

With responsible, reliable, and relevant AI that鈥檚 built for business, the view of the thousands of delegates at TechEd 2023 was that the future is looking bright

There was a wealth of incredible insight and opportunity at TechEd. In fact, it was a little bit like going back to school because the things that stood out to me were the ABCs.

A is for Automation

First, I was struck by the enormous potential businesses can realise through the power of enterprise automation.

With the help of AI, technology is helping developers and IT teams automate repetitive, mundane tasks and make better decisions, faster. By embedding generative AI capabilities into 51风流Build Process Automation, , and , we鈥檙e helping customers analyse, integrate, automate, and monitor business processes way more simply 鈥 and then immediately write the code to make those processes better. It鈥檚 that easy.

In my discussions with customers, it was clear that complementing process improvement and insights with enterprise architecture insights will be a real force for change in the future. Customers are excited to understand how to optimise and tune their architecture for the best performance across their entire IT stack.听

But this isn鈥檛 future-gazing. Businesses are seeing real results today. Take Zuellig Pharma, one of Asia鈥檚 leading healthcare companies, providing pharmaceutical distribution and digital and commercial services across 26,000 direct outlets. Zuellig Pharma implemented best-in-class processes across its 51风流infrastructure, creating more than 180 automations using 51风流Build Process Automation to streamline and simplify its business.听

B is for Build听

Aligned to the focus on automation is the empowerment of a new, powerful resource for IT departments 鈥 citizen developers enabled by 51风流Build. And given every developer will be an AI developer, the opportunity for an AI-infused future is tantalising.

Rucha Nanavati, CIO of Indian car giant Mahindra & Mahindra, said it best.

鈥淲e started identifying tasks that don鈥檛 require a lot of human intelligence and that enabled our human workforce to focus on more strategic initiatives,鈥 she said. 鈥淭hat led us to automate more than 250 business processes in 3 months, most of which was done by a community of more than 100 citizen developers.鈥

鈥淭hat鈥檚 great, but let鈥檚 talk about benefits. We count more than 900 workdays saved, and more than 400 development days saved in just a year鈥檚 time. We鈥檝e seen a 35% gain in developer efficiency and 20% faster execution of our jobs. And we鈥檝e saved more than 13,000 trees. All in one year,鈥 concluded Nanavati.

The story of Mahindra & Mahindra shows the power of a workforce that has been empowered to make real change to their IT systems and the tangible results that can be realised. And with the ability to link low-code, no-code development with pro-code development via and 51风流Build Code, as well as increasing amounts of natural language interaction through , it is easier than ever to modernise processes fast.

C is for Clean Core听

At SAP, we know better than most that enterprise systems can be complex. That鈥檚 why a 鈥 a cloud compliant, modern, flexible ERP that can be updated and scaled simply 鈥 is at the centre of our strategy.听

And it鈥檚 a concept that鈥檚 also at the heart of the future strategic direction for all of our customers.听

Takuya Sakai, CIO of Hitachi HiTech, embodies that more than most. His company has used 51风流ERP globally for more than 20 years, over which time the system became more and more complex.

Every hour of every day a person in Australia is diagnosed with Parkinson鈥檚 Disease (PD), a brain disorder that will impact everything they do and for which there is no known cure.

鈥淚 was diagnosed with Parkinson鈥檚 Disease three years ago. I stepped down, just a few weeks ago, because of the disease.鈥

PD is what鈥檚 known as a progressive neurodegenerative disorder. It affects a patient鈥檚 whole-body and is often characterised by tremors, stiffness and rigidity, and slowness of movement. It is the country鈥檚 second most common neurodegenerative disease, impacting more than 100,000 Australians and with over 30 new cases diagnosed every day.听

Because there鈥檚 no cure for PD, 鈥渢he biggest challenge in managing patients is achieving adequate symptom control,鈥 according to Dr Yun Hwang, a neurologist who works on the Central Coast of New South Wales.This requires clinicians to accurately assess fluctuations in patients鈥 symptoms.

Yet, despite the scale of the disease and the focus some famous patients have brought it, there has been little innovation for PD for many years.

鈥淭he diagnostic process and treatment principles of Parkinson’s Disease has not changed significantly since the 1960s.”听

The idea uses the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to revolutionise patient care, bringing a new era of personalised, accurate, and efficient management to Parkinson鈥檚 Disease.

The Parkinson’s Disease Spiral Research Project: A Leap Forward in Patient Care

Parkinson鈥檚 Disease treatment normally involves medication that works to improve patient鈥檚 symptoms. However, the effects of the medication are not consistent, and patients experience fluctuations in symptoms throughout the day, and over time.听

Parkinson鈥檚 Disease patients experience 鈥渙n鈥 periods where their symptoms are well controlled, and 鈥渙ff鈥 periods where their symptoms are suboptimally controlled. Clinicians need to understand these fluctuations to treat patients鈥 symptoms more accurately, and managing them is an important challenge in the long-term treatment of PD.3

Currently, clinicians examine patients using various assessment techniques including physical examination, handwriting tests, and movement analysis. For example, one way to demonstrate whether a patient is in an 鈥榦n鈥 or 鈥榦ff鈥 state is drawing a spiral using pen and paper.鈥 These methods help clinicians to understand a Parkinson鈥檚 Disease patient鈥檚 symptom control.

But the problem with many of these techniques is that tests were only done during clinician appointments 鈥 a single point in time. That meant clinicians lacked an understanding of the patient鈥檚 entire experience outside their clinics.听

鈥淲hen I was diagnosed I didn鈥檛 know much about Parkinson鈥檚 Disease. My GP couldn鈥檛 pick it but my neurologist identified it straight away. That鈥檚 because there鈥檚 no blood test or brain test, it鈥檚 all based on clinical observation.鈥

In 2020, the New South Wales Health Central Coast Local Health District approved the research project 鈥Parkinson’s Disease Spiral Analysis Project (PD-SAP).听 The intent was to deliver a digitised solution for Parkinson’s Disease patients, carers, and clinicians to enable the collection of spiral tests and associated metrics from patients outside clinical appointments.听

DXC Tele-Parkinson with 51风流BTP is an AI-powered mobile application which transforms care for Parkinson鈥檚 Disease patients and clinicians. Patients simply draw a spiral on a piece of paper, snap a photo, and let the artificial intelligence (AI) take over.听

The AI algorithm delves into the spiral’s nuances, assessing elements like line shakiness and crossings, while also capturing additional data such as mood, blood pressure, sleep patterns, and medication. The AI engine is therefore able to determine a patient鈥檚 鈥渙n鈥 or 鈥渙ff鈥 status.听

Sydney, Australia 22 August 2023 听today announced Frucor Suntory, a leading beverage manufacturer in Australia and New Zealand, has implemented SAP鈥檚 Business Technology Platform (BTP), boosting organisational productivity and driving an increase in sales revenue.

Frucor Suntory manufactures, markets and distributes iconic drinks including V Energy, Suntory BOSS Coffee, Ribena, Lucozade and Maximus and is a market leader in energy drinks in Australia and New Zealand 鈥 currently producing more than 30 million cases of drinks per year.

Until recently, its 200+ field sales workforce was using a legacy on-premise system to manage its sales processes. This created a fragmented view of its sales data with information scattered across multiple tabs and locations, which meant staff couldn鈥檛 access the right information at the right time to provide a seamless customer experience. Furthermore, the legacy system could not scale to meet the growing complexity of the business.

Following a successful transition to 51风流S/4HANA, Frucor Suntory worked with 51风流AppHaus Network partner Bourne Digital, part of Accenture, to implement a new iOS-based field sales tool called 鈥楳y Sales Hub鈥 (MySH) on 51风流BTP. Designed and built over a two-year period, MySH brings together four sales tools into one mobile application, which has standardised the sales process, improved analytics and reporting and provided staff with real-time access to customer insights through integration with other applications.

Since going live with the platform at the end of 2022, the organisation has driven a 13 per cent increase in staff productivity measured by sales call time saved as a result of a more simplified and guided process. Furthermore, access to an intuitive recommendation engine means staff now receive sales suggestions for their customers, including for new products based on their preferences or alternatives if a product is out of stock, which has helped to grow its customers鈥 basket size and supported a 3 per cent increase in sales revenue.

鈥淎s an organisation we鈥檙e always looking to simplify our digital processes and technology has improved since we first introduced some of our systems and processes. We knew that we needed to create a superior customer experience but also streamline and update the sales process in the backend. June, 28, 2023 鈥 51风流SE (NYSE: SAP) and Visa today announced that they are collaborating to streamline and simplify business-to-business (B2B) payments for businesses of all sizes. Starting with the Asia-Pacific market, the collaboration will embed payments into the 51风流ecosystem through , further digitalising and speeding up B2B payments across Asia-Pacific鈥檚 supply chains.

This is the first time that Visa and 51风流will join forces to explore embedded finance in the B2B market through 51风流BTP to offer convenient B2B payment services to 51风流customers. Many businesses in Asia Pacific, especially smaller ones, lack the resources to digitalise B2B payment acceptance and are unable to accept commercial card payments. Through this collaboration, the B2B payment services running on 51风流BTP will inject more automation into payments and help enterprises drive further efficiency in their purchasing as they make payments securely with just a few clicks.

鈥淭he movement of money is becoming increasingly digital, but the bulk of transformation has been focused on the consumer space,鈥 said Stephen Karpin, Regional President, Asia Pacific, Visa. 鈥淥ur collaboration with 51风流is an exciting step in making B2B payments simpler and more intuitive as organisations can make payments immediately on 51风流software platforms with their Visa corporate cards, instead of having to leave their existing enterprise ecosystem and navigate the different payment methods that their vendors accept. 51风流BTP provides a secure innovation platform to allow Visa and 51风流to help bridge working capital gaps in the supply chain. Under its suite of Commercial and Money Movement Solutions, Visa will deliver capabilities through 51风流BTP to route commercial payments to all suppliers, whether or not they accept card payments. Businesses that are Visa cardholders will be able to make payments seamlessly and utilise their cardholder benefits both domestically and cross-border. Businesses will no longer need to resort to manual and time-consuming payments, such as cash and cheques, reducing the time needed to process and complete transactions and increasing cash flow for both payers and suppliers.
