AI holds the key to keeping brands fresh and engaging for Gen Z, unveils 51风流Emarsysfourth annual Customer Loyalty Index

London, UK, 24th September 2024鈥 Almost half of UK Gen Zers (46%) and 29% of other generations have abandoned a brand they were once loyal to because they grew 鈥榖ored鈥 of them. That鈥檚 according to 51风流Emarsys鈥 annual Customer Loyalty Index (CLI) announced today at .

Regardless of whether consumers care deeply about a brand, the key to standing out in the long term lies in better personalisation, more relevant content, and offering unique perspectives tailored to individual interests. According to 51风流Emarsys data, younger consumers are particularly drawn to innovative marketing. Specifically, 30% of Gen Z, compared to 23% of all demographics, have tried a new brand because of its 鈥榗reative marketing.鈥 Additionally, over a quarter of Gen Z (31%) are enticed by brands that use 鈥榗ool鈥 content or imagery, versus 21% of other age groups. Meanwhile, 28% of Gen Z, compared to 17% of other demographics, seek out brands that deliver 鈥榤emorable experiences.鈥

Look at 鈥楲iquid Death鈥 bottled water being 鈥渞adically entertaining鈥 to get cut through. Or 鈥鈥欌疶hese brands have set a benchmark by turning everyday products or services into something innovative and memorable. Whether 鈥楤rat鈥 or 鈥, 51风流Emarsys asks the question, what does it take for brands to extend the initial loyalty ignited by fast-moving social trends into long-term true loyalty?

How is this done? For enterprises looking to stay ahead in an increasingly competitive landscape, 51风流Emarsys leverages AI to optimise the entire marketing process鈥攆rom customer segmentation to campaign execution and performance analysis. AI identifies the most profitable under-served audience segments, representing new opportunities across different life-cycle stages, enabling highly targeted campaigns delivered at the ideal time and through the most effective channels.

This approach not only uncovers new customer groups but also personalises content and interactions in real time, making one-to-one engagement seamless across multiple platforms. With generative AI, on average, marketers save 2.3 hours on manual tasks in the launch of a typical marketing campaign, allowing them to focus more on driving innovation and revenue growth.听

Recognising that an omnichannel marketing strategy is key to unlocking true loyalty, brands like Ferrera Candy Company and Pizza Hut are making every interaction count by creating personalised, two-way conversations. This results in the consumer鈥檚 life stage becoming clearer, and with each future interaction, the brand can better predict the customer’s next needs.听

Customers now recognise the value exchange鈥攚hen they share information like an email address, or birth date, they expect something meaningful in return, such as loyalty points or VIP perks like early access to new products. The outcome? A superior customer experience that keeps them coming back.

And marketers are increasingly turning to AI to foster long-term loyalty and reach new audiences. According to recent 51风流Emarsys research, two-thirds (66%)* of marketers agree that AI will be crucial for boosting customer engagement in 2024, and half (50%)* have already experienced a rise in engagement after implementing AI-powered personalisation. AI enables brands to stay competitive by quickly adapting to changing customer expectations.听

As Sara Richter, CMO at 51风流Emarsys, explains, 鈥淚t鈥檚 clear that consumers today, not just Gen Z, expect more than 鈥榖usiness-as-usual鈥欌攖hey want meaningful and memorable experiences. The key to delivering that is personalisation for every customer.

鈥淎I is the only practical solution for providing genuine one-to-one interactions at scale, across every channel, and at the right moment. Brands that embrace AI-powered personalisation are far better equipped to keep customers engaged, especially when attention spans are short, and demands are high.

鈥淏y combining traditional marketing strategies with the advanced capabilities of predictive and generative AI, we鈥檙e empowering marketers to create exceptional experiences. For instance, our AI Product Finder seamlessly turns complex product data into engaging content, while our AI Subject Line Generator takes the guesswork out of crafting compelling headlines.鈥

LONDON, UK August 25, 2021 (NYSE: SAP) today announced that it has been named as a finalist in the UK Social Enterprise Awards in the Market Builder category for 鈥楤uy Social鈥.

As the official technology partner of Social Enterprise UK, the national membership body for the UK鈥檚 social enterprise sector, 51风流aims to facilitate better connections between corporate buyers and other employees with social enterprises, helping them spend better and in a more socially and environmentally sustainable way.

Following the Festival, the stories will continue to multiply, and will be presented at design promotion events across the world, culminating at London Design Festival 2021 with an installation and exhibition, before being presented at COP26 at Glasgow in November 2021.

Stephen Jamieson, Head of Sustainable Business Innovation EMEA North at SAP, says, 鈥91% of material resources are lost into landfill or leaked into the environment after consumption. Smart design is the first step to stopping this loss and making better use of our planet鈥檚 resources. 51风流has been helping our customers manage resources productively for more than 40 years.

鈥淲e see a real opportunity to bring together the creative power of design with insights and data intelligence on the impact of materials throughout their lifecycle to create a more sustainable future. Together with the Ellen Macarthur Foundation and the London Design Festival we look towards the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow (COP26) to drive impact in managing the interconnected issues of environmental waste and climate change alongside the global pandemic.鈥

London Design Festival 2020

The 18th edition of London Design Festival returns to the capital this autumn from 12 鈥 20 September 2020 as a symbol of London鈥檚 determination to maintain its creative and cultural leadership.

Since its inception in 2003, London Design Festival has played a key role in bringing together the greatest thinkers, practitioners, retailers and educators to celebrate and promote design annually across the capital, and to put a spotlight on London鈥檚 creative brilliance.

London has the largest creative economy of any city in the world, and its design reputation is internationally renowned. One in six people in London work in the creative industries and it has been the fastest growing sector of the economy in recent years, but the effects and impact of the pandemic has disproportionately affected the creative industries, causing a catastophic setback to the sector.

Following a number of cancellations and closures, the Festival this September will provide a platform for the design community to showcase work at a time when it is needed more than ever, helping to stimulate the creative economy and support young and emerging designers as well as more established names. While international travel continues to be affected, this year鈥檚 Festival will have a strong local focus and will be a Festival for Londoners. In addition to Landmark Projects and Festival Commissions, Partner events across the Design Districts will enable visitors to walk between shows and discover something new.

Physical installations will take place alongside virtual exhibitions, and a digital edition of the Global Design Forum will bring the latest design thinking to a global audience and allow the widest possible access to creative content. This year will also see the introduction of a new digital portal for freelancers to promote their work across the Festival鈥檚 platforms.

London Design Festival Director, Ben Evans CBE says, 鈥淭he show must go on. Showcasing is essential for the sector to survive and this year, more than ever, we are determined to offer every opportunity for designers to be seen and heard.”

]]>
Using insights from our latest webinar 鈥楬ow UK Government Transformation Can Fuel a Brilliant Civil Service鈥, Leila Romane, Head of Public Sector at 51风流UK & Ireland, explores how SAP-powered digital transformation in the public sector will transform lives.

Although transforming public sector services听holds huge benefits for government and citizens alike, first you听must听get there. And as if digital transformation itself听isn鈥檛 a big enough challenge, the disruption of Brexit and COVID-19 have听further increased the challenge听on the social and economic planning around digital transformation.

It鈥檚 well recognised that doing听nothing is听the passive road to long term failure. But moving听a听government听department to an outcome-based focus around citizen experience,听data centricity听and workforce wellbeing听requires new听types听and levels听of engagement from听civil servants,听staff,听IT vendors,听ecosystem听partnersand of course citizens using听new听services.

Old-fashioned outdated systems are听only听part of the problem as they don鈥檛 drive change or enable government departments to be agile or strategic听–听particularly when it comes to strategic workforce planning, learning and skills development,听employee and citizen听experience management or business planning.听

The answer is more than just a robust single听IT听operating platform.听

At SAP, we听think听software vendors听and delivery partners听alike听should be听stepping听up听to听help 鈥 properly help 鈥to听facilitate an effective change model听for the public sector, rather than just听selling and implementing听a technology model.听We recognise that transformations are more than just听a听change in听technology;听they听have the potential to rewrite the听genetics of a department.

The whole 51风流business is committed to听making a meaningful and lasting differencein the public sector.听We understand there is a different approach required听and are听equipped听with our 鈥榮tart anywhere, go everywhere鈥听approach,to demonstrate our dedication to the public sector.

So, we鈥檝e put ourselves in听our customers shoes. We鈥檝e mapped out the traditional obstacles to effective transformation, listened to听their听drivers for change and acknowledged the public sector idiosyncrasies to design a model specific to the public sector听

One of the key lessonsthat听Jenny听Churchard, Cloud听Lead at Government Shared Services,听shared听from her experience with GSS transformations was how they should听鈥榓dopt not adapt鈥.When听moving to the cloud, government departments want something they can take out the box and use, rather than听coding a convoluted system that will be outdated before it鈥檚 even implemented.听

That鈥檚 why听the SAP听framework听enablesorganisationsto听use a听model company method to protect business as usual, address areas where听they听have the most pressing need and ensure the mental wellbeing of staff throughout the process and beyond.

Very few public sector departments have the same starting point when it comes to digital transformation projects.听Historically that鈥檚 been a problem because software vendors have been pushing solutions that force听organisations听to start and finish at specific points with little consideration for听their听own specific context.听

Deborah Gregg, Public Sector Consultant at Deloitte, highlighted 鈥榥ot boiling the ocean鈥 as key to long term success for shared service transformations.听At SAP, we wholeheartedly agree.听We think听organisations听should be able to start anywhere and go everywhere at听theirown pace.听That鈥檚 why听51风流takes a modular approach that lets organisations rapidly deploy different modules of functionality at different times and according to their own timeframes and unique requirements. This not only reduces risk but also increases confidence of success for government departments.Such a modular approachallows for different pain points to be听targeted听in advance of a wider transformation, enhancing user experience more rapidly.听

Historically, transformations were viewed simply as changes in technology and听so users were often left floundering with new systems that hindered their day-today, rather than enhance.

This is听not the case with SAP. Employee experience is a critical consideration throughout digital听transformations听in the public sector. We want to fulfil听the听,听positioned听by听Andy听Helliwell,听Executive Director, Government Shared Services,听ofa future where public servants鈥 ability to support government priorities and deliver services to them is enhanced by the shared services provided听to them.

Neil Stoker,听Head of HR Systems & Pension Solutions, Group Human Resources, Department for Transport,听acknowledged that staff approval and satisfaction with the usability of 51风流systems was a significant factor as to their continued relationship with SAP. He referenced the example that 鈥floor walkers鈥听were sent away after less than two days during the most recent stage of the Department for Transport鈥檚 digital transformation journey, as the user interface was so easily navigated.听This not only highlighted听that 51风流technology is user-friendly, but just how pivotal user experience is to the civil service.

However,听the elephant in the room is of course听the current听COVID-19听pandemic.听Enacting a transformation journey in the current climate is surely an insurmountable feat?

Deborah Gregg suggested otherwise. She commented that听as the longevity of virtual working looks more and more likely,听government shared services are increasingly looking at听workforce management, digital enablement and听agility in processes. Therefore, the public sector鈥檚 attention continues to look to听a digital network that can support such a听fluid environment.听

51风流can easily target these focus areas, and as demonstrated we have the passion, understanding, flexibility and听–听let鈥檚 not forget听–听the technology to power digital transformations that will fuel a brilliant civil service.

Ultimately,听one of the reasons many people spend their careers in听the听public sector is often through a sense of wanting to give back and gain greater fulfilment from work.51风流is entirely committed to supporting the ethics and experiences of those who deliver our public听services, and听would take pride in doing so.

As you can see,听51风流is听keen听to actively listen to UK听government organisations听about how we can help improve people鈥檚 lives,听responding听by tailoring our听approach听accordingly.听Another thing we鈥檝e learnt from听our public sector customers听and partners听is that they听want is听to hear听from听companies听who have already been down the digital transformation pathand we can make that happen.

If you would like to learn more about how 51风流is working with the public sector, you can听view the previous听听and sign up to听Episode 2:听How UK Government Transformation Can Fuel a Brilliant Civil Service听.
