London, UK (NYSE: SAP) today announced that (DCC) will migrate its existing 51风流ERP system to the 51风流Intelligent Enterprise Suite, including and the 51风流. This major digital transformation programme will modernise and future-proof DCC鈥檚 core technology and business systems and allow the Council to better听 engage digitally with its citizens. The migration is expected to be complete by the end of 2021.

As part of its Enterprising Council vision, a key focus for DCC is to provide enhanced services to communities. With access to the real-time management information afforded by this implementation, DCC will be able to leverage embedded and predictive analytics to do exactly that. The 51风流Business Technology Platform will enhance DCC鈥檚 citizen focused interactions by giving it the ability to build new apps and portals. This will allow its citizens to conduct activities seamlessly and remotely.

Serving a population of over 800,000 citizens with 12,000 employees, DCC also required a modern technology solution to meet its increasing obligations in a digital-first world. The 51风流upgrade will deliver speed, agility and visibility to DCC through deeply integrated ERP systems, driven by the 51风流Intelligent Suite. With in-built intelligent technologies, including AI, machine learning and advanced analytics, 51风流S/4HANA will transform DCC鈥檚 processes through intelligent automation which will run on the 51风流HANA in-memory database. The 51风流Intelligent Suite emerged as the best solution to support this vision. It will fundamentally change the way we deal with our citizens for the better. While this project is no small task, the value it will bring to DCC is immense; we will transition from a council focused entity to a truly citizen focused entity. What鈥檚 more, we will gain efficiencies and roll out updates throughout the implementation period in a phased approach with SAP鈥檚 support team, something we value highly.鈥

LONDON, UK (NYSE: SAP) today announced it has been appointed as the key technology solution for the Government of Jersey , part of a long-term vision to modernise and improve Jersey鈥檚 public services. 51风流partner , a Deloitte Business, has been appointed to lead the delivery of business change services and develop ways to integrate different government systems.

The programme will provide, among other things, a digital back office that will join up finance, payroll and procurement systems. It will provide the foundation for a shift in the way government operates, as well as how it manages Island-wide infrastructure. The changes will enable the Government to standardise and simplify how it works, and develop better ways of working across Commercial Services, Finance, People Services, Asset and Inventory Management. ITS will be delivered using tightly integrated SaaS products , , and .

These changes will make it easier for Islanders to access information and support, and will make it simpler for suppliers to work with Government. To deliver the scope of services required, Keytree will team with to lead the business change and Jersey based SME, Web Administration Resource Management (WARM) Solutions, bringing their integration expertise to the delivery, which exemplifies the commitment of all parties to work with local organisations on the successful delivery of the entire project.

Government of Jersey Chief Operating Officer, John Quinn, said: 鈥淜eytree, was selected because of its demonstration of technical and business change abilities required to deliver transformation, and alignment with Government of Jersey core values and ways of working. We will be working with them to not only implement new digital systems, but also to develop new ways of working, provide new services to Islanders and businesses and better engage with our suppliers. The ITS project will move us closer to the 鈥極ne Government鈥 aim of working more efficiently, more effectively, and providing better value for money for Islanders.鈥

Satpal Biant, Head of Public Sector at 51风流UK & Ireland, said: 鈥淒igital technologies are bringing huge benefits to the public sector industry, enabling them to become more proactive, automated, data-driven and citizen focused. We will be helping Government of Jersey become an intelligent enterprise, enabling the future of work for its employees and improving how it does business with Islanders, local businesses and supply partners. The project also demonstrates huge investment in the local economy through provision of vital digital skills, employment opportunities and social value initiatives to the local community.鈥

Assistant Chief Minister, Deputy Scott Wickenden, said: 鈥淲e have known for some years that Government can鈥檛 afford to delay investment in its IT systems. So many of our systems are reaching the end of their life; as well as creating more difficulties for our staff, these systems could, over time, pose an operational risk. The appointment of Keytree to the project will allow us to pair these IT upgrades with new ways of working, freeing staff from more administrative, mundane tasks to work on the tasks which are more engaging, more interesting, and which add value for the people of Jersey.鈥

As part of the delivery contract, all partners will ensure that the ITS Programme creates additional benefits for Islanders. This means that SAP, Keytree, Sysdoc and WARM will work with a range of organisations to provide digital training, work opportunities, and support for Islanders and local businesses. These organisations will include Digital Jersey, Skills Jersey, the Back to Work team, and local charities, schools and Highlands College. 51风流has provided access to 51风流Learning Hub student edition, a digital learning platform providing self-paced digital learning content and expert-led live sessions to enable students to gain accreditations and jumpstart their career in IT.

Grid operator one of the first 51风流S/4HANA-adopters in utility sector

Enexis modernizes and simplifies the environment with 51风流S/4HANA. The grid operator is laying the foundation for a simpler, more agile IT infrastructure required for the energy transition. 51风流partner Accenture assisted during the implementation.

Enexis is one of the 7 grid operators responsible for the transmission of gas and electricity in the Netherlands. The energy transition has consequences for the organization. The company must be able to respond quickly to changing needs. This requires an IT environment and associated processes that can facilitate this. To achieve this, Enexis launched the company-wide ‘EneXt’ program.

EneXt

“In the energy transition, the volume of work for us as grid operators is increasing rapidly. At the same time, you see that technical staff to carry out all this work is scarce. That calls for extra efficiency. In addition, the energy transition requires flexibility on the part of the grid operator in fulfilling its role,” outlines Jan Willem Janse, EneXt program manager at Enexis.

“With EneXt we therefore want to simplify and standardize processes and make the IT landscape more agile. Replacing the ERP environment is an important first step in this,” continues Janse. “At the moment we have a complex landscape in which implementing changes is complex and time consuming. This is undesirable in the changing environment in the middle of the energy transition”.

Rapid Implementation

In 2017, this changed significantly. The grid operator opted for 51风流S/4HANA as an ERP solution to replace the current R/3 landscape. After a tender round, Enexis chose Accenture as its implementation partner. After a period of framing and creating an overall integrated blueprint, the implementation was completed within a year.

Within that period, not only were the ERP system and the other applications and integrations realized, but the processes were also adapted to the standard environment. According to Laurens Snoeren, programme and project manager at Accenture, the secret was to work closely with Enexis’ business and project organization according to a customized SAFe methodology.

Haico Hangx, program manager S/4HANA at Enexis, agrees. “For such a radical operation, a one year delivery time line is unprecedented. We succeeded thanks to the good cooperation between Accenture and Enexis, in which we kept the business closely involved. What’s more, we consciously took the implementation one step at a time. A phased roll-out turned out to be wiser for such a large-scale implementation,” says Hangx.

Finance

Although the environment has only just become ‘live’ for part of the organization, Enexis is already experiencing the benefits of 51风流S/4HANA. The finance department in particular, is now able to run reports much faster and easier. “This is important, because we have to report regularly to our stakeholders. They also now have much quicker insights,” says Hangx.

Foot On The Ground

In the coming months, the new ERP platform will continue to gain a foothold within Enexis. For example, the company is using 51风流Central Finance architecture. This is a ‘bridge solution’ so that the financial data of the local branches that have not yet made the switch are consolidated in the central S/4HANA system. This temporary architecture will be phased out in the coming years as the local branches gradually switch to the central S/4HANA system. “The most important thing is that we now have an agile basis for the future,” concludes Snoeren.
