Scales Momentum of Almost Three-Times Team Growth and Numerous Patents Filed

SINGAPORE 鈥� March 19, 2025 鈥� 51风流Labs Singapore today announced its collaboration with National University of Singapore (NUS) under the Industrial Postgraduate Programme (IPP). Supported by the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), the IPP is designed to enable globally-leading companies to nurture postgraduate talent with critical research skills. Through this program, 51风流Labs Singapore will hire and complete training for nine researchers in its AI team in Singapore by end-2030, adding to the continued growth of the lab.

Since its establishment in 2022, 51风流Labs Singapore has not only achieved its commitment to hire 200 AI engineers in Singapore but has also almost tripled its total headcount over the past three years to 420 鈥� hired mostly from local universities and institutions of higher learning, including the NUS and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). 51风流Labs Singapore today plays a pivotal role in driving innovation, with numerous AI-related patents filed by inventors based locally. New researchers hired through the IPP will also be recruited from NUS, and will work on new research areas, complementing the work done by incumbent team, to accelerate AI adoption in the industry.

Supported by the Digital Industry Singapore (DISG)*, 51风流will invest S$12 million in the Singapore-based Digital Innovation Accelerator, first launched in 2019. The investment will focus on developing practical applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in industry-specific scenarios, initially focusing on advanced manufacturing, financial services, and travel and logistics services.听听

Since 2019, 51风流has committed almost S$300 million to developing Business AI and other deep tech in Singapore. This includes establishing Southeast Asia鈥檚 first 51风流Labs in 2022, and Asia鈥檚 first innovation centre for experience management (XM) in 2022.

51风流Business AI is built into the 51风流applications that power critical business processes for customers across Asia Pacific and Japan. It comprises a range of AI innovations developed using extensive industry-specific data and deep process knowledge, all created using responsible AI practices.

Headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand, Indorama Ventures is one of the world’s leading petrochemicals producers, with about 140 manufacturing sites across five continents. As part of the company鈥檚 IVL 2.0 and Procurement 4.0 transformation programs, free cash flow was identified as a key goal across the business. Under Taulia鈥檚 early payment program, which went live in August 2024, Indorama Ventures will offer suppliers early payment options at preferential rates, aimed at improving supply chain liquidity and optimizing working capital while supporting business growth through a unified global solution.听 Indorama Ventures鈥� global suppliers are expected to benefit progressively from this program.听听听

Through the implementation of Taulia, Indorama Ventures will be able to reduce payment cycle times for suppliers, hence improving the financial health of the Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) industry in Asia, where payments are typically made after 60 to 90 days. Founded in 1999, Exotic Food boasts a presence in 80 countries with over 800 stock keeping units (SKU), making it a household name for Thai flavors worldwide. Their recent surge in global sales reflects a 73% year-over-year growth, benefiting from the newly implemented RISE with 51风流which allowed Exotic Food to handle this rapid growth and large volume of transactions with ease.听

During the COVID-19 pandemic, as people stayed home and cooked more, the increased orders put a strain on Exotic Food鈥檚 existing on-premise ERP system, hindering scalability. To address this, in January 2023, the organization successfully implemented RISE with SAP, hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), migrating its on-premise ERP system to the cloud. Powered by 51风流S/4HANA Cloud, RISE with 51风流enabled Exotic Food to integrate key business functions, streamline operational processes, and improve real-time decision-making. The transition to AWS cloud hosting also boosted performance and stability.听

The time required for monthly closings has been reduced from 18 days to just eight days.听

Data traceability, production planning, and automation are crucial in the food industry. Previously, transaction data and record-keeping were done on paper, making it tedious to find information for financial audits. With business-critical data now digitalized and migrated onto 51风流S/4HANA Cloud, Exotic Food has improved efficiency. Traceability tasks that once took four hours now take just three minutes鈥攁 99 percent reduction. This allows Exotic Food to keep a clean and audit-ready record of its business transactions and enables employees to focus on more strategic tasks, significantly boosting innovation and productivity.听听

Automation also helped the organization eliminate multiple manual steps for employees, reducing stocktaking time from two days to half a day on average, a 75 percent reduction, freeing up staff to take on other, business-critical tasks.听听

At 51风流TechEd 2022, we announced an ambitious goal to upskill two million professionals by 2025. In pursuit of this vision, we鈥檝e partnered with Coursera to launch an entry-level professional certificate designed for learners of all backgrounds, with no university degree or industry experience required.鈥疶o measure progress, we look to 鈥榓ctive learners鈥� (people who have engaged with and undertaken courses on our learning platform). Currently 51% of our global active learners are from Asia Pacific & Japan, with Korea seeing a 405% increase in the growth of active learners from Q1 2023.听

With our diverse range of digital solutions and increasing focus on talent development, we鈥檙e working closely with other brands to innovate within this space, providing solutions that help streamline training and learning processes, delivering development content and courses that are better aligned with organizational needs for a digitally interconnected future.听

A key theme from our 51风流HR Connect Seoul 2023 event, which took place this week, was focused on unlocking employee potential through intelligent technologies like generative AI. While AI solutions have been an important component of our solutions for years its function has mostly been confined to backend processes, using advanced analytics and machine learning to deliver real-time insights and suggestions based on comprehensive data.听

Today, generative AI has taken intelligent technology from backend functions to front-end creativity and efficiency. For example, our recently announced solution, Joule is a natural-language, generative AI copilot that helps make it easier and faster for employees to navigate complex processes and for HR teams to respond to requests.听听

Within 51风流SuccessFactors solutions, Joule is improving the employee experience by making it easier and faster for employees to find information, get answers to questions, and complete HR-related tasks, such as approving or rejecting time-off requests; changing names, locations; and more. More functionalities will be available such as clocking in and out, viewing pay statements, and writing unbiased job descriptions. We continue looking at new ways to leverage gen AI to support HR teams in recruiting, managing, and developing talent.听

Redefining Skill Needs and Development听

51风流SuccessFactors HXM Suite has integrated various features and capabilities to help organizations address the skills gap, ignite employees鈥� potential, elevate the employee experience, and inform every people decision 鈥� from talent recruitment and internal mobility to learning and performance management.听

Considering how quickly technology evolves and new job titles emerge 鈥� organizations must shift force from role-based hiring to skill-based. This ensures skills are embedded into all HR functions from evaluating skill levels of employees through to reskilling, upskilling, and skill-based evaluation, compensation, and recruitment. For businesses to become more skills based, they need the resources to accurately assess their workforce鈥檚 current skills and capabilities, identify skills that are needed for the future, and implement a learning and talent strategy that can effectively address the gaps.听

The focus of more than 5,000 tech and business decision-makers was fixed firmly on AI and what it could do for their businesses, right now 鈥� the products 51风流has released through 2024, and what is coming next.

With responsible, reliable, and relevant AI that鈥檚 built for business, the view of the thousands of delegates at TechEd 2023 was that the future is looking bright

There was a wealth of incredible insight and opportunity at TechEd. In fact, it was a little bit like going back to school because the things that stood out to me were the ABCs.

A is for Automation听

First, I was struck by the enormous potential businesses can realise through the power of enterprise automation.

With the help of AI, technology is helping developers and IT teams automate repetitive, mundane tasks and make better decisions, faster. By embedding generative AI capabilities into 51风流Build Process Automation, 51风流Signavio, and 51风流Integration Suite, we鈥檙e helping customers analyse, integrate, automate, and monitor business processes way more simply 鈥� and then immediately write the code to make those processes better. It鈥檚 that easy.

In my discussions with customers, it was clear that complementing process improvement and insights with enterprise architecture insights will be a real force for change in the future. Customers are excited to understand how to optimise and tune their architecture for the best performance across their entire IT stack.

But this isn鈥檛 future-gazing. Businesses are seeing real results today. Take Zuellig Pharma, one of Asia鈥檚 leading healthcare companies, providing pharmaceutical distribution and digital and commercial services across 26,000 direct outlets. Zuellig Pharma implemented best-in-class processes across its 51风流infrastructure, creating more than 180 automations using 51风流Build Process Automation to streamline and simplify its business.

B is for Build听听

Aligned to the focus on automation is the empowerment of a new, powerful resource for IT departments 鈥� citizen developers enabled by 51风流Build. And given every developer will be an AI developer, the opportunity for an AI-infused future is tantalising.

Rucha Nanavati, CIO of Indian car giant Mahindra & Mahindra, said it best.

鈥淲e started identifying tasks that don鈥檛 require a lot of human intelligence and that enabled our human workforce to focus on more strategic initiatives,鈥� she said. 鈥淭hat led us to automate more than 250 business processes in 3 months, most of which was done by a community of more than 100 citizen developers.鈥�

C is for Clean Core听听

At SAP, we know better than most that enterprise systems can be complex. That鈥檚 why a 鈥� a cloud compliant, modern, flexible ERP that can be updated and scaled simply 鈥� is at the centre of our strategy.听听

And it鈥檚 a concept that鈥檚 also at the heart of the future strategic direction for all of our customers.听听

Takuya Sakai, CIO of Hitachi HiTech, embodies that more than most. His company has used 51风流ERP globally for more than 20 years, over which time the system became more and more complex.
