Each March, International Women’s Day is commemorated on 8 March, an apt moment to reflect on women’s participation in the technology sector. According to , women currently hold only 26.7% of tech-related jobs, and similarly, technology firms with more than 10,000 employees report women’s representation at 26.2%. Multinational software company 51风流(NYSE: ) is committed to equip women to reach their full potential through Three Zeros Commitment, one of which is Zero Inequality.听

From left to right: Helen Selvanathan, Fiza Ismail, and Sin Ting Lim

This year, 51风流was included in the and have won 42 awards globally for its diversity, equality, and inclusion (DE&I) efforts. In Malaysia, SAP鈥檚 workforce is represented by 45% women, with 55% being in leadership positions.

鈥淚t is imperative to create a positive environment that maintains equality and equity which 51风流embraces to create opportunity for women to grow. I am confident this year International Women’s Day can thrust this importance much further,鈥 said Saqib Sahab, Managing Director of 51风流Malaysia.

These efforts were also seen positively throughout 51风流Malaysia, especially from the perspectives of its women leaders: Helen Selvanathan, Sin Ting Lim, and Fiza Ismail who were able to build their careers within one of the world鈥檚 largest enterprise solutions providers. As part of this month鈥檚 celebration of International Women鈥檚 Day, they share their experience as women in technology.

Helen Selvanathan: Purpose to Succeed

Helen have had 25 years of experience in the IT world. She joined 51风流Asia Pacific & Japan in 2017. Having experiences in various role, she has demonstrated successful initiatives across Asia Pacific, Japan & Greater China during her tenure prior to SAP.听 She is currently leading the 51风流Business Women Network (BWN) SEA and driving impact through external engagement, showcasing 51风流as diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) leader. Outside of SAP, Helen likes to participate in external women development initiatives through NGOs and volunteers for impacted communities.听

As a leader in SAP, she finds challenges in getting everyone to take ownership of their responsibilities. Then, she admitted that seeing the big picture beyond daily task can at times prove challenging. However, she began to understand that everyone has their own minds and perspectives and tackles this by establishing an open communication.听

Helen has developed her confidence through immersing herself within the 51风流and technology community by taking opportunities as speakers and moderators for both internal and external events. Helen shares her keys for success, 鈥Set a purpose for what we can do passionately. Also, be persistent and persevere to support teamwork. And finally, stay patient for success to follow.鈥

Helen advised women who are currently pursuing career success to take ownership in their actions and responsibilities. This will help in the continuous self-improvement.

Fiza Ismail: Knowledge to Succeed

Fiza Ismail is the Public Sector and Enterprise (PS & Ent) Account Lead in 51风流Malaysia. Like many others, she is part of the 鈥榖oomerang鈥 community whereby when one having left SAP, one would likely find themselves rejoining 51风流years later. With her eighteen years of experience in the industry, she became knowledgeable with the Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Brunei markets. Outside of SAP, she likes to engage herself in charities.

The biggest challenge that she has faced so far was in bringing together the team to achieve common goals. 鈥I believe that confidence is really important as a leader. If you want to grow in your career, you will need to learn and do mistakes. The key part is not to repeat the same mistake again,鈥 she advised. She also added that thinking logically and strategically during the planning phase is key to success.

鈥淢y advice would be, to think logically, you must always see 2-3 steps ahead and most importantly not be afraid,鈥 Fiza confirmed.

Sin Ting Lim: Learn to Succeed

Sin Ting is the Key Account Executive for 51风流Malaysia and regards her strongest point being communications. Before she joined 51风流through 51风流Sales Academy, she had four years of experience in business banking. Sin Ting believes in always walking the extra mile throughout her ventures. This was acknowledged when she was recognized as 鈥榯he Southeast Asia Rookie of The Year 2022鈥. Outside of SAP, Sin Ting likes to learn more about the technology industry to understand better of her role.

Although the Tech industry is dominated by men, Sin Ting did not feel the same sentiment. By putting the perspective that everyone holds the same responsibilities, Sin Ting established her confidence. However, she noted that it is important for women to create leverage on the strength of empathy and being meticulous.

Having the mindset of 鈥榞lass half full鈥 can help to seek possibilities to make opportunities happen. Of course, not every opportunity is successful 鈥 there will be failures and success altogether. This is where the skill of perseverance and commitment is being tested. 鈥淚t is not over until it is over,鈥 she said. At her end, Sin Ting offers some advice on expressing the result of actionable item through credibility and visibility.

Helen, Fiza, and Sin Ting have talked about their own formulas in building their success with their own set of hurdles. For them, gaining confidence can be achieved through multiple opportunities and challenges that they have overcame. This is how they can climb into making their own success: persevering and making use of the inclusive 51风流environment.听

While each employee is encouraged to work in harmony with their own color, 51风流lets everyone become their best individual self. Not only that, but 51风流has made the effort to keep track with the D&EI through establishing employee benefits and learning tools, such as 51风流BWN, 51风流Next Gen4All, 51风流University Alliance. The post Five Tech Trends That Will Shape PH Businesses in 2022 appeared first on 51风流Southeast Asia News Center.

]]>
Over the last two years, organizations of different sizes and industries have realized, even more, the critical role technology and innovation play in business and society. The latest developments in technology provided more ways to ensure more connected enterprises, enabling them to survive and thrive amid the 鈥榥ever normal.鈥

However, these advancements in technology have just begun. As organizations prepare for the post-pandemic world, technologies that have been introduced in recent years are expected to continue evolving. The latest advances will also further transform how people interact and work.

Here are the tech trends that businesses need to look out for this 2022 as listed by 51风流SE (NYSE: SAP).

Embracing Digital Transformation

Since the pandemic started, the speed at which digital transformation is fundamentally changing the business landscape has dramatically increased. The developments that could have happened in a decade or so were made possible overnight in many industries.

In the Philippines, the digital sector contributes significantly to its economy. This reality indicates that organizations in the private and public sectors will continue strengthening their digital transformation initiatives. Backed by strong government support, these transformations can unlock PhP5 trillion worth of economic value by 2030, according to a recent AlphaBeta and Google report.

Nurturing Sustainability

Nowadays, embracing sustainability has become an integral part of organizations, with business leaders considering it a strategic priority. Aside from top and bottom-line, forward-looking organizations add sustainability and even purpose as dimensions to driving business success.

Among these organizations is Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC). As a leading infrastructure investment company, MPIC commits to contribute to the achievement of the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 9, which seeks to 鈥榖uild resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation.鈥

Recently, MPIC strengthened its digital core as it embraced cloud solutions that can help consolidate, modernize, and standardize its enterprise resource (ERP) systems on a single platform. The integration into the cloud is part of the group鈥檚 sustainability philosophy of integrating business and environmental stewardship into their investment strategies. It helps improve its operations and augment sustainability initiatives, especially since SAP, MPIC鈥檚 technology partner, embeds sustainability into its core business processes.

Meanwhile, consumers are making apparent shifts to more sustainable products and services. According to a Kantar report, 75 percent of Filipino consumers seek out brands that offer ways to alleviate impacts to the environment. Even employees now make career choices based on their employer鈥檚 responsibility towards the planet. Thus, it is now even more integral to invest in innovation that considers environmental welfare while fostering economic and social development.

Integrating Decision Intelligence, Hyperautomation

In the Philippines, the Department of Trade and Industry noted that Artificial Intelligence (AI) adoption can increase the country鈥檚 gross domestic product (GDP) by 12 percent or equivalent to $92 billion by 2030.

Digital tools like AI, including augmented analytics and simulations, make 鈥淒ecision Intelligence鈥 a realistic approach to improve organizational decision-making. Each choice or decision in such a system result from multiple process iterations, refined with the help of analytics and data intelligence. With these digital tools, decision intelligence may support and enhance human decision-making and potentially automate it, hence augmenting organizational processes to be more efficient.

Meanwhile, scalability, remote operation, and business model disruption are also becoming possible with the use of Hyper-automation. Before the pandemic, businesses have been automating many processes through technologies like Robotic Process Automation (RPA). This trend will continue to grow for automating business and IT activities using a disciplined, business-driven approach.

Rising Low-Code, No-Code Tech

As content creation becomes even more relevant, graphic and website designs have been streamlined so users can simply 鈥渄rag鈥 and 鈥渄rop鈥 elements to create engaging content. This trend will extend to no-code AI, where users can create systems by simply 鈥渄ragging鈥 and 鈥渄ropping鈥 ready-made modules, removing the 鈥減rogramming language鈥 barrier through simple interfaces. Consequently, it will allow users to create complex and robust AI systems.

Ensuring Total Experience (TX)

Due to the pandemic, organizations needed to have an excellent Total Experience (TX) strategy or a holistic program that combines customer, user, and employee experiences. With this strategy in place, organizations can help enhance customer satisfaction and employee productivity.

Organizations need to focus on weaving in these experiences instead of working on them individually to help ensure that they will be more satisfied as teams that work as an integrated unit. This trend is expected to continue as businesses eliminate communication and process silos and emphasize providing unified experiences to their employees remotely working while interacting with customers.

Collaborating with a Technology Partner

As these trends arise, organizations need a technology partner to help them achieve their business goals this year and beyond. For SAP, embracing technology means ensuring that the organization becomes an intelligent enterprise.

As a technology partner for businesses in the country, 51风流helps make it easier by offering solutions like Rise with SAP, an intelligent enterprise framework to help kickstart businesses鈥 digital transformation journey. In the Philippines, MPIC is the first organization to adopt this cloud technology through this Business Transformation as a Service (BTaaS), offering consolidated solutions and services needed for business transformation in one package.

Rise with 51风流also includes 51风流and its whole ecosystem of partners assisting organizations in changing at their own terms and pace to be an intelligent and sustainable enterprise by simplifying engagement and providing a guided journey.

51风流has also launched its new 51风流Sustainability Center within the 51风流Experience Center to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability. Customers and partners can learn how to use technology to drive sustainable development goals through hands-on demonstrations.

Employee learning and training for the future of work

According to the World Economic Forum, more than 1 billion jobs, almost one-third of all jobs worldwide, are likely to be transformed by technology in the next decade. In response to this constantly changing nature of work, new skills need to be developed and expanded.

Individuals and teams must find ways to access organizational knowledge and learning, and SAP, through its variety of learning and development offerings on Success Map, enables employees to grow their knowledge and skills which open up more opportunities to develop their career. 51风流also fosters future-of-work-learning initiatives, such as 鈥淭he Future Learning Lab鈥, an open group of learning professionals and interested employees who want to actively shape the future of learning at 51风流in a creative way.
