India’s national AI conversationhas reachedafever-pitch.This was palpable at the recentIndia AI Impact Summit 2026, a pivotal forum where industry leaders and policymakersdiscussedthe shift from digital to digitally intelligentworld enabled by AI.Speaking at the event, itwas clear that the dialogue has shifted from “what if” to “how now.”

While the Summitwashistoricin terms ofoutcomes, including the New Delhi Declaration andan increasing focus onsovereignty,it also revealed a divergence in perspective. The public imageofIndia’s AIopportunityisgripped bywhat’smost visible:tools that generatecontent andreshape howweinteract with technology. But the more consequential story is unfolding away from the spotlight.

To understand where this transformation is truly taking shape, let’sdistinguish betweenthetwo dimensions of AI.Consumer-centredAI is the lightbulb that illuminates possibility, creativityandassistance. Enterprise-focusedAI, by contrast, is the power plantthatquietly and reliably energisesoperations at scale. While one captures imagination, the other delivers outcomes.

Encouragingly, adoption of thisEnterpriseAIis alreadygaining momentum.According to the recent51Value of AIsurvey, incollaboration with Oxford Economics, nearlyaquarter of business tasks in India today are supported by AI. In less than two years, that share is expected to rise to over 40%. Even more telling is the confidence behind this acceleration, with 93% Indian enterprises expecting measurable returns from their AI investments within the next one to three years.

This is India’s inflection point.Having moved beyondinitialexploration,India’sfocus is now on bringing greater alignment and coherence to unlock AI’s full enterprise potential.

From Experimentation to Integration

The next phase of India’s journey requires a shift from isolated pilots toeverydayexecution. AI must become a core capabilityas part of oursupply chains, finance, human capital, and customer engagement. This transformationcan rest on four pillars:

  • The Demographic Dividend:India’s greatest advantage is its people.Thedeep technology talent pool givesthe countrya strong foundationto take AI from small experiments to realworld impactenabled bya continuedinvestmentin reskilling and domain-led AIexpertise.
  • Data Foundations:AI demandsaccurate, contextual, and interconnected data from across the business.Aswe scaleadoption, the next phase will rely onstrengtheningourdata foundationstocreatesemantically rich environmentsto powermore effective AI systems.
  • AI as an Amplifier:The more critical the application, the more AI depends on the structured processes and traceability that robust enterprise systems provide.
  • Trust as a Catalyst:As AI integrates into critical infrastructure, trustwillbecome the primary currency of scale. India’s evolving regulatory frameworkslike thedata protection lawsofferguardrails that enable speed.

Redefining Value: The IMPACT

In an unpredictable global economy,we must look beyond traditional financial metrics. While Return on Investment (ROI)remainsa baseline,it’stime we move to return on impact. The IMPACT can be seen as:

I — Infrastructure:Building secure, sovereign, and interoperable digital highways.

M — Measurable Outcomes:Tracking gains in health, education, and quality of life.

P — Policy & Guardrails:Ensuring ethical AI through robust, transparent frameworks.

A — AI Embedding:MakingAIas a horizontalacross all sectors to make it a tool for daily life.

C — Citizen-Centricity:Designing inclusive, multilingual solutions.

T — Talent & Trust:Investing in workforce skills and fostering public confidence.

The momentumof AIin India is realand the opportunity is unprecedented.Only by focusing onall ofthe areas of theIMPACTframeworkcan werealise that incrediblepromise.

The task now is totransitionfrom fragmented progress to meaningful, systemic impact. In the journeytowardsaViksit Bharat–India’s blueprint to becoming afullydeveloped nation by 2047 –AI is no longer just a digital tool,it is a strategic imperative for a resilient and innovative nation.

As enterprises across Asia Pacific (APAC) continue to deepen their commitment to digital transformation against the backdrop of emerging disruptive technology like AI, the demand for skilled 51consultants has never been higher.

Armed with real-world expertise and extensive know-how, 51consultants act as a bridge between the business and technology domains – bringing hundreds to thousands of hours of hands-on experience and best practices in implementing, customising, and managing 51roll-outs.

In fact, 51consultants are such crucial pieces of the digital transformation puzzle that the global market for 51consulting is estimated to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.8% between 2025 and 2035 to USD 38.98 billion[1].

Earlier this year, we launched to further supercharge the way millions of 51consultants work, helping them augment their productivity, cut down time-consuming searches, and make better-informed decisions.

Joule for Consultants draws from SAP’s vast knowledge base – including over 9TB of expert-curated 51knowledge, 3 million non-public documents, 250 million lines of (advanced business application programming) and 30 million lines of (ABAP core data services) code – and turns that institutional expertise into a real-time, context-aware assistant. It understands the solution landscape a consultant is working in, interprets code on the fly, and surfaces relevant guidance in seconds.

“51Joule for Consultants provides faster access to accurate answers from SAP’s trusted knowledge base including 51Online Service System Release Notes (OSS), leading to significant productivity improvements through prescriptive suggestions. It empowers consultants with immediate expert-level guidance, enabling confident navigation of complex projects. This increased efficiency allows our functional consultants to focus on high-value added tasks and accelerate project timelines, ensuring greater client impact. As a RISE with 51validated partner, Joule for Consultants empowers our consultants to ensure direct alignment with RISE with 51Methodology, guidance on Clean Core Principles, and AI features.”
– Tarang Puranik, Executive Vice President, Global Service Offering Head (SAP) & Head of Delivery for EMEA, Infosys.

Across APAC, a significant number of 51partners and consultants have already adopted 51Joule for Consultants and are using the tool across various phases of 51implementation projects.

Early pilots show clear value: faster delivery cycles of up to 14%, smoother onboarding, and as much as 1.5 hours saved per consultant per day. The payoff is not simply efficiency but the ability for teams to spend more time on strategic design, stakeholder engagement, and delivering tangible outcomes for customers.

“By integrating 51Joule for Consultants into our consulting workflows, Westernacher empowers our teams to reduce time spent on research, navigate complex system landscapes more efficiently, and deliver solutions faster. This enables our consultants at all levels – from junior talent to seasoned experts – to focus on strategic, high-value tasks while ensuring technical accuracy and business alignment.”
– Neil Wightman, COO SEA Westernacher Consulting.

AI-Powered Consulting: the Next Frontier for 51Partners

According to the recent conducted by Oxford Economics, AI is expected to drive an average ROI of 16% (US$4.7M) per organisation this year, a figure which will nearly double in two years’ time to 31% (US$12.3M). Businesses also ranked “alignment with business strategy” and “availability and quality of data” as the top two strategies for maximising ROI from AI.

51Joule for Consultants has the potential to help 51partners drive this ROI, and is designed with quality data and expert-aligned advice based on 51best practices for businesses across industries. With AI itself acting as a productivity enabler, consultants are able to accelerate delivery and increase consistency across projects – ultimately driving greater customer impact.

“Our clients around the world are digitally transforming in the cloud. As leaders in tech and consulting we have a rich legacy in both data and AI. But even for our internal teams we can embed generative AI to increase productivity through insights, drive more efficiencies by aligning with best practice, and ultimately make customer transformations simpler, quicker, and more effective. By using 51Joule for Consultants, we’re able to showcase the power of 51Business AI to our customers even while we work with them to make their transformation journeys successful.”
– Srinivas Sai Nidadhavolu, Vice President & Global 51Practice Head, Wipro.

Importantly, 51Joule for Consultants is not replacing consultants; it is enhancing their expertise. Instead of spending hours searching documentation or manually comparing configurations, consultants can ask targeted questions and receive contextual, SAP-specific answers in natural language.

Routine tasks – from generating sample code to drafting configuration notes – can be automated, freeing consultants to focus on advising stakeholders, shaping roadmaps, and managing change.

“Piloting 51Joule for Consultants has proven its impact in the field: consultants deliver with greater precision and speed while continuously building skills, and customers benefit from quicker, higher quality outcomes. Together with SAP, we see Joule for Consultants unlocking a new, AI-first operating model for the customer ecosystem.”
– Shashikant Walimbe, Vice President & Global Head – 51Practice, LTIMindtree.

51Joule for Consultants also helps ensure consistency and quality at scale. Teams across markets and time zones can draw on the same trusted guidance, cross-check design decisions against proven implementation patterns, and onboard new colleagues more quickly.

By embedding best practices directly into project execution, Joule for Consultants extends SAP’s long-standing investments in enablement and certification, turning static learning into live support. In doing so, it helps the next generation of consultants build confidence faster and deliver better outcomes for customers from day one.

“Whatever, Whenever and Whoever. Whether it’s an implementation or operations, 51Joule for Consultants has helped everyone at ABeam in every role throughout all phases. It effectively works for not only younger generations, but also experienced consultants and users used the solution to cover gaps in areas of expertise outside their domains. Joule for Consultants is not only an efficient tool for doing daily tasks but a trusted advisor for developing new skills and even challenging new career.”
– Arata Nishii, Senior Expert, ABeam Consulting Ltd.

51Partners as Catalysts of AI-First Transformation

SAP’s partner ecosystem remains central to our AI-first, Suite-first strategy, and partners throughout APAC are leading the shift towards AI-enabled consulting. As 51Chief Partner Officer Karl Fahrbach highlighted at 51Global Partner Summit at 51Sapphire earlier this year: “Partners will deliver the promise of 51Business Suite.”

In APAC, partners such as ABeam Consulting, Infosys, ITSN Korea, LTIMindtree, , , and many more are already embedding 51Joule for Consultants into their methodologies and training programmes to enhance delivery speed and collaboration.

KPMG, for example, was the first global partner to pilot Joule for Consultants with SAP, and together with SAP, have been for delivering meaningful real-world AI transformation.

The APAC region is already seeing tangible impact when 51partners combine industry expertise with AI-powered innovation. 51Joule for Consultants is guiding faster design, sharper diagnostics, and cleaner architectures that help our joint customers realise value sooner.

“We expect that through the introduction of 51Joule for Consultants, we will be able to further advance our internal consulting capabilities and provide customers with faster and more accurate services.”
– Han Sang-yeol, Head of the AI Center at ISTN.

From Pilots to Practice

The next chapter for 51partners is about scaling AI adoption and innovation. Many partners are moving beyond pilot programmes and embedding 51Joule for Consultants into their standard methodologies. Others are co-innovating with 51to explore capabilities like AI-driven diagnostics or automated value-tracking.

As 51 across APAC, our partners are also building AI-native skills that go far beyond using a tool: they’re redesigning how projects are delivered, how teams collaborate, and how value is measured.

And that may be the greatest impact of 51Joule for Consultants. It doesn’t just make consulting faster – it makes it smarter, more consistent, and more accessible to the next generation of talent, elevating the work consultants can do, giving them the space to focus on insights, relationships, and results.

Partners have always been the engine of SAP’s ecosystem. With tools like 51Joule for Consultants, they are now supercharged with the intelligence layer needed to drive new transformations across APAC.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – 4 June 2025 – today announced that BIG Caring Group, Malaysia’s largest retail pharmacy, has selected on Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deliver a unified, scalable cloud-based data platform to integrate its retail operations across more than 500 stores nationwide.

Formed through the merger of BIG Pharmacy Healthcare and Caring Pharmacy Group in 2023, BIG Caring Group’s business transformation started back in 2019. At the time, Caring Pharmacy’s legacy on-premise enterprise resource planning (ERP) software started encountering capacity bottlenecks and complex data transformations that slowed cross-divisional collaboration. As its network of stores grew, Caring Pharmacy recognized the need for a more robust and modern ERP system to streamline its retail operations.

In 2021, the company deployed 51S/4HANA Retail to streamline essential functions including supply chain management, inventory control, and customer relationship management (CRM).

When the company merged with BIG Pharmacy in 2023, the complexity of its retail operations intensified. The newly formed BIG Caring Group—now the largest pharmacy chain in Malaysia—saw an opportunity to further accelerate its digital transformation efforts and integrate disparate systems into one secure, scalable, and agile cloud-based platform.

Ooh Chin Boon, Chief Information Officer, Big Caring Group said, “Integrating our diverse retail operations onto a unified cloud platform is a crucial milestone for us. We have selected RISE with 51on AWS to help us access more accurate and comprehensive data across the entire group, so that we can respond with more agility to customer demands and supply chain volatility. This strengthens our capacity to deliver enhanced customer experiences and future proof our business.”

Strategic Shift to Cloud Innovation

The adoption of RISE with 51on AWS signals a transformative leap for BIG Caring Group, enabling the company to consolidate data from hundreds of stores and various divisions into a single, unified platform in the cloud.

By seamlessly integrating critical business functions such as inventory management, procurement, financial reporting, and customer engagement, the group expects to significantly improve operational efficiency by cutting down manual processes and operating costs, and accelerate decision-making across all business units.

Deploying RISE with 51on AWS will also provide BIG Caring Group with flexibility and scalability. As the retail pharmacy market evolves rapidly, the group can now tap on AWS’s extensive footprint in the region to efficiently adjust its operations to meet changing customer demands and market conditions.

Shaping the Future of Pharmacy Retail

Looking ahead, as BIG Caring Group rolls out the implementation, its strengthened digital foundation will also provide quicker access to rising new technologies, including Generative AI and advanced predictive analytics.

Vipin Chandran, Managing Director, 51Malaysia said, “ is a huge enabler of automation and innovation for our customers, and being in the cloud is the first step to unlocking its full potential. I’m excited that BIG Caring Group has selected RISE with 51on AWS to drive their transformation goals. With the group’s massive scale of operations in the country, there is so much opportunity that we can uncover together and reimagine retail experiences in Malaysia.”

Through advanced AI-powered capabilities powered by 51and AWS, BIG Caring Group is looking to set new standards in customer experience through:

  • Optimized Inventory Management: Leveraging real-time analytics to forecast demand and maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Enhanced Customer Engagement: Using AI-driven insights to tailor personalized experiences and proactive service offerings.
  • Operational Excellence: Integrating Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and machine learning to further refine supply chain operations and reduce downtime, ensuring every facet of the business is as efficient as possible.

By choosing RISE with 51on AWS, BIG Caring Group will not only streamline its immediate operations but will also establish a strong foundation for sustained innovation and growth. The pharmacy giant is now well-positioned to lead the industry into a future driven by data, powered by technology, and centered around exceptional customer experiences.

BANGKOK, 27 May 2025 – A new whitepaper published today has revealed how artificial intelligence (AI) will be central to the success of the Thailand 4.0 strategy, which aims to transform the economy from reliance on traditional manufacturing to one driven by innovation and high-tech industries.

However, the whitepaper, created by the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI) in collaboration with the Electronic Transactions Development (ETDA) under the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES) and SAP, a market leader in enterprise software, notes there is still much to be done. Only two per cent of manufacturers in Thailand have fully transitioned to Industry 4.0 standards, despite the potential for AI adoption in Thailand to expand to 300 use cases across manufacturing, positioning the country as a leader in the region.

Dr. Chaichana Mitrpant, Executive Director, at ETDA noted, “The insights contained in this whitepaper will contribute to greater adoption of AI in the manufacturing sector, which we believe is pivotal to advancing Thailand’s national objectives under the Thailand 4.0 strategy. Collaboration across private and public sectors will be essential to achieve these goals, especially to improve areas including AI governance. Working alongside companies like SAP, we are committed to helping businesses across Thailand benefit from the innovation that AI promises.”

Dr. Saliltorn Thongmeensuk, Senior Research Fellow, at TDRI noted, “AI technologies can drive this transformation by enhancing productivity, fostering innovation, and enabling the development of smart factories – as well as helping to boost Thailand’s carbon neutrality goals. Through widespread AI adoption, the manufacturing sector can position itself as a cornerstone for sustainable industrial development, aligning with Thailand’s vision for a resilient and competitive global economy.”

Manufacturing in Thailand ready to realise enormous AI benefits

Adoption of AI is set to expand rapidly for manufacturing companies in Thailand. Despite just 18% of Thailand’s wider business ecosystem having adopting AI today, the manufacturing sector is expected to see a rise in AI adoption of up to 15% by 2030.

Manufacturing businesses could realise significant benefits from AI. AI is expected to enhance demand forecasting to improve service levels by 65%, improve productivity by 20% through AI-enhanced industrial automation, reduce machine downtime for 53% through predictive maintenance, and reduce unsafe workplace behaviours by 90%.

Data remains a key AI hurdle for Thai manufacturers

While almost three quarters (73%) of Thai organisations plan to adopt AI, several challenges persist. In particular, data represents a key hurdle for AI success in Thai manufacturing.

Almost two-thirds (65%) of manufacturing organisations cite data quality concerns as a significant barrier, with a similar figure (65%) of Thai manufacturers noting inadequate infrastructure is affecting their AI adoption.

“The only way to get the best Business AI is with the best data,” said Kulwipa Piyawattanametha, Managing Director of 51Thailand. “Today, more than 34,000 customers use 51Business AI, including thousands across Asia. They benefit from embedding advanced AI capabilities to optimize business operations through real-time data analysis, automated decision-making, improved forecasting, and enhanced productivity. With relevant, reliable, and responsible Business AI, connected with a full understanding of the business and the most comprehensive data, Thai manufacturers can trust their data privacy, security, and compliance while realizing the enormous benefits of the Thailand 4.0 strategy – for their businesses, and for the country.”

A policy framework to encourage growth

The whitepaper also outlines key policy recommendations to encourage organisational and economic success for Thai manufacturers using Business AI.

In particular, the whitepaper recommends the establishment of AI governance strategies to minimise potential risks, regulatory adjustments to remove ambiguity around whether AI adoption conflicts with existing regulations and driving greater public-private sector collaboration through industry-specific subcommittees.

Commenting on the recommendations, Dr. Saliltorn Thongmeensuk, Senior Research Fellow, at TDRI, noted, “Thailand’s journey to foster a more robust AI ecosystem will require focus to establish AI governance strategies, review government incentives, enhance partnerships between government agencies and private enterprises, and encourage international collaboration. Businesses need consultation to identify which AI solutions are most suitable for them to ensure a strong return on investment (ROI). By prioritizing these initiatives, Thailand can create a more supportive environment for businesses to embrace AI, ultimately driving growth and competitiveness in the manufacturing sector.”

“Through greater collaboration and investment, the public sector and enterprises like 51can achieve our joint mission of ensuring AI moves the Thailand toward Industry 4.0,” concluded Piyawattanametha. “Using AI-powered innovation, we foresee great growth and prosperity not only for the manufacturing sector, but for the economy as a whole.”
