51��Appoints Deepak Kaushik as SEA Chief Partner Officer

Singapore, 16 July 2024 – 51��has appointed Deepak Kaushik as Chief Partner Officer for Southeast Asia (SEA). With a career spanning over two decades in the IT industry, Deepak is tasked with scaling the indirect partner business with SAP’s SEA Partner Ecosystem (PES) and supporting partners to aid in driving customer success in 2024 and beyond. The announcement comes as Vipin Chandran steps down after more than three years in the role to take up a leadership position at 51��Malaysia.��

Having joined 51��in 2019, Deepak was most recently the Head of PES for Thailand, Vietnam, and Emerging Markets, including the Partner Led Territories business for Indochina. In his new role, Deepak reports directly to Verena Siow, President & Managing Director of 51��Southeast Asia. Thai Seasoning Leader Goes Global: Exotic Food Thailand Leverages RISE with SAP��

Bangkok, Thailand — 13 June 2024 — today announced that Exotic Food Thailand (Exotic Food), a leader in Thai seasoning and ingredients, has accelerated its global expansion and innovation efforts by leveraging , a comprehensive business transformation package that includes an cloud ERP solution, infrastructure, and services.��

Founded in 1999, Exotic Food boasts a presence in 80 countries with over 800 stock keeping units (SKU), making it a household name for Thai flavors worldwide. Their recent surge in global sales reflects a 73% year-over-year growth, benefiting from the newly implemented RISE with 51��which allowed Exotic Food to handle this rapid growth and large volume of transactions with ease.��

During the COVID-19 pandemic, as people stayed home and cooked more, the increased orders put a strain on Exotic Food’s existing on-premise ERP system, hindering scalability. Previously, the process was lengthy due to the recurring need to verify and correct source data. With real-time data recording and verification enabled by 51��S/4HANA Cloud, financial reports are now generated in shorter times with less errors, significantly speeding up the process. The time required for monthly closings has been reduced from 18 days to just eight days.��

Data traceability, production planning, and automation are crucial in the food industry. Previously, transaction data and record-keeping were done on paper, making it tedious to find information for financial audits. With business-critical data now digitalized and migrated onto 51��S/4HANA Cloud, Exotic Food has improved efficiency. Traceability tasks that once took four hours now take just three minutes—a 99 percent reduction. This allows Exotic Food to keep a clean and audit-ready record of its business transactions and enables employees to focus on more strategic tasks, significantly boosting innovation and productivity.��

Automation also helped the organization eliminate multiple manual steps for employees, reducing stocktaking time from two days to half a day on average, a 75 percent reduction, freeing up staff to take on other, business-critical tasks.��

The airline had been using the on-premises enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions from 51��to manage data for operational costs and profitability for almost a decade. For its next phase of growth, BA needed a more flexible and scalable system to navigate rapidly changing market conditions and technological advancements, particularly in areas like generative AI.

“The pandemic disrupted the entire airline industry, and we were not spared. Amid the market volatility and unforeseen challenges, we knew we had to take a proactive approach to ensure that Bangkok Airways stayed resilient and would be operationally agile once the pandemic tided over. By moving to a cloud environment with RISE with 51��on AWS, BA began to transition its 51��ERP architecture from a scale-out to scale-up model – adopting a to standardize ERP processes and data with minimal modifications, and adding cloud-compliant extensions and customizations as its business evolves. This change was expected to streamline maintenance efforts, lower costs, and improve scalability.��

Since going live on the cloud in November 2023, the airline has experienced an uptick in system availability. Batch processing for its back-office operations, and workflow automation, are now centralized, providing greater visibility into BA’s business processes across the organization and real-time insights that facilitate better data-driven decision-making. Furthermore, with improved disaster recovery capability built in right at the onset, BA is now able to reduce the risk of data loss and downtime, further improving system performance and reliability for customers, employees, and stakeholders.��

Global Net-Zero Ambitions

51��reveals increasing Indonesian investment in sustainability solutions driven by competitiveness and profitability benefits

90% of Indonesian businesses see positive relationship between sustainability and profitability, above Asia Pacific and Japan average

JAKARTA – 5 December 2023 – Indonesian organisations say their overall business performance is intrinsically linked to treating sustainability as a strategic priority – and are boosting their investments as a result.

A recent study by 51��(NYSE: SAP) found on average 90% of Indonesian businesses see a moderate to strong relationship between sustainability and their organisation’s profitability, while 91% noted a relationship between sustainability and competitiveness, ahead of results across Asia Pacific and Japan (71% competitiveness, 68% profitability).

That impact on business outcomes is driving investment. In Indonesia, 66% of businesses intend to increase their investments in sustainability over the next three years, indicating a strong relationship between sustainability and business priorities.

Sustainable Indonesian businesses drive growth in the top line, bottom line, and green line

The study, which surveyed 250 people in Indonesia, found that 93 per cent of Indonesia businesses saw sustainability strategies contributing to outcomes like revenue or profit growth to a moderate or strong degree. Similarly, 92% of Indonesian respondents saw a moderate or strong increase in the efficiency of business processes from sustainability activities.

More than half (55%) of Indonesian businesses expect to demonstrate a positive financial return on their sustainability investments within the next five years, compared to 61% of global respondents.

“Sustainability can no longer be considered separately to the wider financial performance of the business because it is increasingly clear that more sustainable organisations are more successful organisations,” said Gina McNamara, Regional Chief Financial Officer, 51��Asia Pacific and Japan.

“Already, 2% of Indonesian businesses say sustainability is material to their business results, and another 36% say it will be within five years. Now is the time to combine financial and environmental decision-making in every business process, so we treat carbon data the same way we treat financial data.”

Yet, challenges remain. The lack environmental impact strategy is the top barrier to taking environmental action with 42% of Indonesian businesses finding it a challenge, above the global average of 32%. Other notable issues include uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic (40%), doubtfulness about ability to measure impact on the environment (34%), and a lack of clarity on how potential actions would align with organizational strategy (32%).

Indonesian businesses looking to unlock the value of sustainability data��

Extracting value from sustainability data will be key to enabling Indonesian businesses to prove return on investment.

40% of Indonesian businesses are completely satisfied with the quality of the sustainability data they gather, up 10 points from last year (30%) and above the global mark of 23%.

However, there remains work to do to measure sustainability data directly, rather than rely on assumptions and estimates. Indonesian businesses trail the rest of the world when it comes to directly measuring water pollution (23% in Indonesia vs. 31% globally), air pollution (11% vs. 13%), and nature loss (18% vs. 22%).

“If our sustainability data is not complete then the decisions we make to improve the health of our planet and our businesses are cast into doubt,” continued McNamara. “The key is to record and report accurate, granular, and auditable sustainability data and integrate it with financial data to make the right business decisions.”

Indonesian businesses are utilising sustainability data across their ecosystem

That becomes particularly important considering Indonesian businesses are using sustainability data to make decisions today. Nine in ten (92%) of Indonesian businesses use sustainability data to inform strategic and operational decision-making to a moderate to strong degree. Just 1% do not use sustainability data in decision-making at all.

Yet, there are encouraging signs of progress. Eight in ten (84%) of Indonesian businesses report moderate or strong tracking of Scope 1 emissions, while that number is 81% for Scope 2 emissions, and 80% for Scope 3 emissions.

Similarly, Indonesian businesses are making sustainability demands across their ecosystem. More than three-quarters (84%) of respondents said they require sustainability data from their suppliers and 82% demand environmental impact data from partners like logistics and fulfilment to a moderate to strong degree.

“The benefits of integrating sustainability data and outcomes into the core business are clear,” concluded McNamara. “But there’s still so much more to do. Working with a technology partner like 51��will help more businesses measure actual sustainability data, act on it strategically, and drive competitiveness, profit, and revenue themselves.”

Sebanyak 40% perusahaan di Indonesia merasa sangat puas dengan kualitas data keberlanjutan yang mereka kumpulkan, naik 10 poin dari tahun lalu (30%) dan berada di atas angka global sebesar 23%.

Namun, masih banyak pekerjaan yang harus dilakukan untuk mengukur data keberlanjutan secara langsung tanpa mengandalkan asumsi dan perkiraan. Perusahaan-perusahaan di Indonesia masih tertinggal dari perusahaan-perusahaan lain di dunia dalam hal mengukur polusi air secara langsung (23% di Indonesia vs. 31% di dunia), polusi udara (11% vs. 13%), dan kerusakan alam (18% vs. 22%).

“Jika data keberlanjutan kita tidak lengkap, maka keputusan yang kita ambil untuk meningkatkan kesehatan planet dan bisnis kita akan diragukan,” lanjut McNamara. “Kuncinya adalah mencatat dan melaporkan data keberlanjutan yang akurat, terperinci, dan dapat diaudit, serta mengintegrasikannya dengan data keuangan untuk mengambil keputusan bisnis yang tepat.”

Bisnis di Indonesia menggunakan data keberlanjutan di seluruh ekosistem mereka��

Hal ini menjadi sangat penting mengingat bisnis di Indonesia menggunakan data keberlanjutan untuk mengambil keputusan saat ini. Sembilan dari sepuluh (92%) perusahaan di Indonesia menggunakan data keberlanjutan untuk menginformasikan pengambilan keputusan strategis dan operasional pada tingkat yang cukup kuat. Hanya 1% yang tidak menggunakan data keberlanjutan dalam pengambilan keputusan sama sekali.

Namun, ada tanda-tanda kemajuan yang positif. Delapan dari sepuluh (84%) perusahaan di Indonesia melaporkan bahwa mereka melakukan pelacakan emisi Cakupan 1 dengan tingkat sedang atau kuat, sementara itu, angka tersebut mencapai 81% untuk emisi Cakupan 2, dan 80% untuk emisi Cakupan 3.

Demikian pula, bisnis di Indonesia membuat tuntutan keberlanjutan di seluruh ekosistem mereka. Lebih dari tiga perempat (84%) responden mengatakan bahwa mereka membutuhkan data keberlanjutan dari pemasok mereka dan 82% meminta data dampak lingkungan dari mitra seperti logistik dan pemenuhan pada tingkat yang moderat hingga kuat.

“Manfaat mengintegrasikan data keberlanjutan dan hasil ke dalam bisnis inti sudah jelas,” pungkas McNamara. “Namun masih banyak hal yang harus dilakukan. Bekerja dengan mitra teknologi seperti 51��akan membantu lebih banyak bisnis mengukur data keberlanjutan yang akurat, menindaklanjutinya secara strategis, dan mendorong daya saing, keuntungan, dan pendapatan mereka sendiri.”
