New research shows 76% of UAE businesses plan to invest in AI-powered customer engagement in 2026

April 1, 2026 鈥 (NYSE: SAP) announced that the 51风流Emarsys solution has been renamed to reflecting SAP鈥檚 strategy to make engagement a core enterprise capability across the 51风流portfolio.

51风流is recognized in the 2026 Gartner庐 Magic Quadrant™ for Personalization Engines. 51风流Engagement Cloud now brings SAP鈥檚 trusted enterprise backbone to the customer experience, enabling organizations to connect customer insight and operational execution in real time. It builds on market-leading personalization capabilities.

51风流Engagement Cloud also incorporates AI鈥慹nabled insight to support responsible, efficient scaling of personalized engagement.

The announcement is supported by new data in the highlighting the growing pressure on organizations to close the customer engagement gap. While 74% of UAE businesses believe they are delivering seamless experiences, 66% of consumers report frustration with being passed between teams to resolve a single issue. At the same time, 76% of businesses plan to invest in AI-powered customer engagement in 2026, and 74% see AI as essential to retaining customers. However, 47% of consumers say organizations are still too slow to use data in ways that deliver meaningful value, underscoring the need to better connect insight with execution.

As part of this evolution, 51风流also announced 51风流Engagement Cloud, enterprise edition, which provides advanced administration, governance, and content and data-control capabilities for organizations operating鈥 across multiple brands, regions, and teams.

These findings were presented this week at 51风流NOW AI Tour Riyadh, where business leaders, policymakers, and technology experts gathered to discuss AI鈥檚 role in advancing the Kingdom鈥檚 economic transformation. The event also highlighted the recent expansion of the Saudi Business Network, the world鈥檚 first regulated public sector deployment of 51风流Business Network, enabling enterprises to access global procurement capabilities while ensuring local compliance.

The survey revealed that Saudi enterprises are prioritizing customer experience and growth when implementing AI. Fifty-two percent of respondents said improved customer satisfaction is the most important success measure, followed by increased revenue (47%), enhanced decision-making (47%), and cost reduction (48%). More than half (51%) expect significant returns from AI investments within the next one to two years, showing how quickly AI is moving from experimentation to real-world impact.

RIYADH, KSA February 10, 2025 鈥 Enterprises across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have made impressive strides in preparing for effective use of Business AI, a YouGov survey commissioned by 51风流shows. The results, which were shared at this year鈥檚 LEAP event held in Riyadh, will be used to inform SAP鈥檚 efforts to expand collaboration with customers and partners in the Kingdom to create industry-specific AI solutions and use cases at its Experience Innovation Center in Khobar.

The survey examined several key factors for effective AI implementation including whether companies are operating their core business functions on the cloud, the extent of existing AI implementations, the quality of business data available, and the AI expertise of staff. Significantly, 75% of the Saudi enterprises surveyed are already hosting their core business processes on the cloud, with a further 22% planning to do so within the next 15 months. Hosting enterprise resource planning solutions on the cloud maximizes the effectiveness of AI thanks to real-time data access, scalable computing power and the ability to integrate advanced AI models seamlessly into business processes.

Another pertinent finding was that 64% of Saudi enterprises stated they were highly confident of the quality of their data, while a further 32% describe themselves as 鈥榮omewhat confident鈥. Having accessible, high-quality data is important as AI systems rely on data to learn patterns, make decisions, and generate reliable and actionable insights.

鈥淚t is very encouraging to think that around 96% of these companies will be hosting core business functions on the cloud by the end of next year. 51风流customers moving to the cloud immediately benefit from the cutting-edge Business AI infused in our cloud solutions,鈥 says Ahmed AlFaifi, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, SAP, Middle East Africa 鈥 North. 鈥淗owever, it is important to see higher confidence in data quality, which is enabled through implementing solutions such as 51风流S/4HANA for enterprise resource planning. The result is clean, organized data that allows AI algorithms to forecast demand accurately, streamline supply chains, and enable AI models to be fair and unbiased, among other things.鈥

A further indication that KSA companies鈥 readiness to leverage the broad potential of AI is that most of those surveyed were already using AI in several business areas. The most cited was customer service, with 45% leveraging AI to support this function, followed closely by marketing and communications (42%), accounting and finance (41%), sales (also 41%), and human resources (36%). Only 10% reported that they weren鈥檛 using AI in any business areas.

Companies do, however, face some challenges in broader implementation of AI across business functions. The most cited of these were the associated costs (51%), lack of skilled personnel (47%), integration with existing systems (42%) and privacy and security concerns (41%).

Making AI accessible to all

In discussing these challenges, AlFaifi highlighted how embedded AI solutions were helping to make the power of AI accessible to everyone, as well as SAP鈥檚 role in delivering training in Business AI.

The growing importance of SAP鈥檚 Business AI was reflected on a global level in the company鈥檚 impressive Q4 earnings results announced towards the end of last month. In announcing the results, 51风流said its strong position in data and Business AI created additional confidence that 51风流would accelerate revenue growth through 2027.

AlFaifi believes this will increasingly be the case in the Kingdom, too. 鈥淥ur customers don鈥檛 have to invest in an extensive arsenal of discrete Business AI products that need to be integrated into our solutions. Our Business AI capabilities are embedded across our portfolio, and we also co-innovate with partners and customers to create solutions for industry-specific needs.鈥

    Of the UAE enterprises surveyed, 67% are already hosting their core business processes on the cloud, with a further 22% planning to do so within the next 15 months. Hosting enterprise resource planning solutions on the cloud maximizes the effectiveness of AI thanks to real-time data access, scalable computing power and the ability to integrate advanced AI models seamlessly into business processes.

    Most companies were already leveraging some form of AI, mostly in business functions such as marketing and communications (42%), customer service (40%), sales (38%), and accounting and finance (38%), but less so in areas such as supply chain and logistics (27%) and product or services development (27%).

    鈥淲hile it is very encouraging that almost 90% of businesses believe they will be running on cloud within the next 15 months, it is clear that they are not yet leveraging AI for a full range of business processes. 51风流infuses AI across our enterprise cloud portfolio, enabling our customers to benefit immediately from AI-driven insights and enhancements to elevate all areas of operations, from finance to HR to supply chains,鈥 said Marwan Zeineddine, Managing Director, 51风流UAE.

    Zeineddine noted, however, that the survey had identified a lack of certainty over data quality. 鈥淗aving accessible, high-quality data is important as AI systems rely on data to learn patterns, make decisions, and generate reliable and actionable insights. We found only 65% of respondents described themselves as highly confident in the quality of the data, but this proportion should increase significantly when the remaining companies move their core operations to the cloud. Data quality is enabled through implementing solutions such as 51风流S/4HANA for enterprise resource planning. This enables clean, organized data that allows AI algorithms to forecast demand accurately, streamline supply chains, and enable AI models to be fair and unbiased, among other things,鈥 he explained.

    DUBAI, UAE 鈥 November 4, 2024 鈥 A new survey of UAE companies across all industries commissioned by global technology giant has found a surge in demand for artificial intelligence (AI) expertise, which the global technology company is helping to address through its training programs aimed at university students and Emirati graduates.

    With the rapid proliferation of AI applications across business areas, UAE companies are looking to move quickly to leverage the technology鈥檚 benefits. However, the 51风流YouGov survey found 43% of IT decision makers identified a lack of skilled employees as a key challenge to implementing AI. In addition, a staggering 84% of UAE companies said they are planning to hire specialized AI staff within the next 15 months.

    In addition to hiring new talent, UAE companies are boosting training for existing staff. While 57% of companies surveyed had already implemented some form of AI training, a further 35% plan to do so in the next 15 months.

    Positive attitudes to AI considered a key enabler as UAE brands build better, more personalized omnichannel experiences to nurture loyal customers

    DUBAI, UAE 鈥 November 1, 2024 鈥 With 83% of UAE respondents considering themselves loyal to a particular brand, people in the Emirates achieved the highest loyalty ranking among all regions in this year鈥檚 international 51风流Emarsys Customer Loyalty Index. This edition was the UAE鈥檚 debut in the annual survey, which saw the US moved to second place for the first time, with a loyalty score of 69%.

    Respondents from the UAE also demonstrated some of the most positive attitudes towards artificial intelligence (AI), which 51风流Emarsys analysts believe could be a key factor behind the top-ranked loyalty levels. AI makes it easier for brands to build better, more personalized omnichannel experiences, enabling them to nurture loyal customers.

    Commenting on the value of the research to marketers, Marwan Zeineddine, Managing Director of 51风流UAE, says, 鈥淟oyalty can have a significant impact on brands鈥 business objectives, but today, the nature of loyalty is changing. In 2024, AI empowers marketers to create incredible connected experiences, making it easier for people to discover a wide array of platforms; reducing the barriers to spending their money elsewhere.鈥

    Zeineddine adds, 鈥淲ith the process for switching brands and services increasingly streamlined, marketers in the UAE must ask themselves, what does loyalty look like from the customer perspective? How do today鈥檚 customers think and feel about loyalty? And what does it take to ignite true loyalty, then secure it long-term? These are questions that we鈥檝e asked customers in our 51风流Emarsys fourth annual Customer Loyalty Index research.鈥

    Unlike other regions where older generations tend to exhibit greater loyalty, younger generations in UAE showed stronger brand allegiance in the survey. This variation highlights the need for brands to focus on cultivating loyalty among younger consumers, ensuring lasting customer relationships by engaging them early and consistently, since they are the most committed demographic in the UAE. Regardless of whether consumers care deeply about a brand, the key to standing out in the long term lies in better personalization, more relevant content, and offering unique perspectives tailored to individual interests, according to the Customer Loyalty Index results.

    The survey also delivered interesting insights into loyalty drivers among UAE consumers. High loyalty drivers include consistent branding (44%), brand longevity (30%), market leadership (30%) and if products are trending on social media (29%). The most significant negative impact came from poor customer service, cited by 56% of respondents, followed by increased prices (55%), a drop in quality (46%), false or deceptive advertising (33%) and a brand having no regular or meaningful/personalized discounts (33%).

    For enterprises looking to stay ahead in an increasingly competitive landscape, 51风流Emarsys leverages AI to optimize the entire marketing process鈥攆rom customer segmentation to campaign execution and performance analysis. AI identifies the most profitable under-served audience segments, representing new opportunities across different life-cycle stages, enabling highly targeted campaigns delivered at the ideal time and through the most effective channels.

  • CAIRO, Egypt October 11, 2023 鈥 The Egyptian government鈥檚 focus on sustainability and digital transformation, both key to the country鈥檚 Vision 2030, is having a positive impact on how companies operate across the country鈥檚 industries, based on survey results announced today by global technology company (NYSE: SAP).

    According to the results of the YouGov survey of IT decision-makers commissioned by SAP, Egyptian companies are closely aligned with Vision 2030鈥檚 Sustainable Development Strategy and its concurrent focus on digital transformation, as well as the vision of Digital Egypt laid out by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

    With 91% of companies recognizing digital transformation as important for achieving their business objectives, 86% of respondents said they were planning further investment in digital transformation and cloud services within 18 months of the survey.

    At the same time, more than 90% of companies surveyed recognized the value of sustainability as a business objective, and viewed technology and innovation as important to the success of their sustainability strategies. Almost all participants (94%) believed that their organization’s financial performance and sustainability strategy would be connected in the coming 12 months.

    These results echo SAP鈥檚 view that the concepts of sustainability and digital transformation are intrinsically linked, according to Mohamed Samy, Managing Director, 51风流Egypt. He explains, 鈥淒igital transformation is key to sustainability. Aside from cloud computing being more favorable than on-premise solutions in terms of lower carbon emissions and energy consumption, technology is indispensable in tracking and managing sustainability efforts. When designing 51风流solutions, we build sustainability metrics into all business processes, and also create solutions dedicated solely to sustainability measurements and analysis.鈥

    Many key 51风流customers in Egypt have cited this focus on sustainability as a factor that led them to select 51风流as their digital partner. According to Mostafa el Gabaly, Managing Director of Polyserve Fertilizers and Chemicals, “When we first initiated our digitalization program in 2019 one of our main goals was to operate in a more sustainable way. With 51风流S/4HANA and the ARIBA platform, we succeeded in achieving this goal. We are always exploring and experimenting methods for reducing our carbon footprint.鈥

    The 51风流YouGov survey also asked respondents to rank what their chief sustainability goals were for the next 18 months. Reducing waste was the top priority, highlighted by 53%, followed closely by addressing sustainability in supply chains at 52%, while 34% saw reducing emissions and decarbonization as a priority.

    Broad transformation benefits

    Aside from supporting their sustainability objectives, companies in Egypt are embracing digital transformation to enhance various aspects of their operations and services. Chief among these, according to the SAP-commissioned survey, are customer service, identified as a target by 60% of respondents, followed by finance (45%) and human resources (45%), and supply chains (25%).

    Similarly, in terms of measuring the success of their digital transformation, respondents said they would be considering factors such as increases in efficiency (59%), improvements customer service (52%), cost savings (39%) and enhanced competitiveness (20%).

    Commenting on the strong support for digital transformation in Egypt, SAP鈥檚 Samy concluded, 鈥淓gypt鈥檚 adoption of new technologies, and its vision to create a robust digital infrastructure supported by skilled workers, have inspired organizations to embrace the benefits of cloud computing. In doing so, they benefit from advances in areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics, data science, blockchain, and cyber security. Ultimately, embracing digital transformation supports sustainable national development and the positioning of Egypt as a regional innovation hub as outlined in the Digital Egypt vision.鈥

  • DUBAI, UAE March 7, 2023 鈥 The Museum of the Future鈥檚 newest showcase, the OSS Hope Simulator from SAP, was unveiled today, providing an immersive experience where visitors can see how today鈥檚 technologies could be leveraged to sustain a future space station. The launch was part of the 51风流NOW event held at the museum, which explored the future of innovation, sustainability and digital transformation.

    The new exhibit is the result of a strategic partnership announced between the Museum of the Future and 51风流in the past year. This was one of a series of partnership agreements the museum established in order to be a key laboratory for entities from all around the world and to be able to generate futuristic and innovative technological solutions that address humanity鈥檚 greatest challenges.

    The OSS Hope Simulator from 51风流is situated on the 鈥楾omorrow Today鈥 floor of the museum, a dedicated space featuring near-future technologies that have the power to transform and change the way we live. The simulator presents visitors with various scenarios that will have an impact on the Orbital Space Station (OSS) Hope, a space structure redirecting solar energy to power earth by 2071, as conceptualized by the museum. The space station is constantly working towards maximizing its resources and, therefore, it is crucial to sustainably balance energy, materials, and opportunities for all the inhabitants, and for the station itself. Guided by an AI assistant, visitors playing on one of the three available gaming stations encounter challenges that use existing 51风流technologies and solutions to reduce emissions, waste, and inequalities to zero and thereby make OSS Hope an even more sustainable vision.

    As part of the installation, the simulator includes a 鈥榃all of Knowledge鈥 that explains how the various solutions and technologies used by 51风流operate. Once players have chosen from the various courses of action presented in the simulated challenges, they can view SAP鈥檚 global use cases to find out about current applications of that specific solution. There are a total of eight solutions used in the 51风流simulation including blockchain, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, hyper-automation, and digital twins.

    Maccotta pointed out that with the simulator鈥檚 focus on zero emissions, zero waste and zero inequality, it was fitting that it was launched during the UAE鈥檚 Year of Sustainability, and the year in which COP28 will be held in Dubai. He added that the UAE government鈥檚 focus on sustainability has led to a ripple effect seen across all industries, according to a new survey released by SAP.

    Sustainability Linked to Business Success

    鈥淎 recent SAP-commissioned survey shows that the overwhelming majority of companies in the UAE are fully aligned on the importance of sustainability including the role it plays in the future success of their business,鈥 Maccotta said. 鈥淏usinesses are facing pressure from customers and partners to demonstrate sustainable practices, and the survey shows that it is being driven internally too, as the financial value of sustainability is increasingly recognized.鈥

    According to Maccotta, the new YouGov survey commissioned by 51风流indicated that 96% of UAE companies recognized the importance of sustainability as a business objective, with 52% describing it as vital to their success. Similarly, 94% of IT decision makers surveyed stated that their organizations鈥 financial performance and sustainability strategies would be connected in the coming 12 months, with 36% stating they would be intrinsically connected.

    When IT decision-makers were asked about their companies鈥 specific sustainability goals in the next 18 months, the most cited goal was addressing sustainability in supply chains (65%), closely followed by reducing waste (62%), and reducing carbon emissions (53%).

    Alongside sustainability, the survey showed that companies in the UAE are also overwhelmingly focused on digital transformation. A total of 89% of companies are planning to invest further in digital transformation cloud solutions and services in the coming 18 months. In addition, 95% of respondents stated that technology and innovation was important to the success of their sustainability strategy.

    鈥淭he survey findings are encouraging as they show businesses are recognizing the vital role that technology plays in sustainability.
