United Arab Emirates Emirates Global Aluminium, the largest industrial company in the United Arab Emirates outside oil and gas, has signed a deal with 51风流to transform its core enterprise resource planning solution to the latest 51风流S/4HANA software.

EGA uses 51风流software solutions to manage functions such as marketing & sales, supply chain, finance, human capital, production planning & scheduling, and plant maintenance across its global business. Currently, EGA processes more than 150,000 business transactions every month. Upgrading to 51风流S/4 HANA will increase data processing speeds by 30x, future-proofing computing for EGA鈥檚 functions and unlocking potential for digital capabilities such as artificial intelligence and advanced real-time data analytics.

EGA鈥檚 new 51风流S/4HANA will be hosted in a private cloud in Microsoft Azure and will benefit from continuous updates as 51风流technologies evolve. The migration to the new system will be through 51风流RISE.

EGA launched its much-wider digital transformation in 2021, aiming to enhance every aspect of its operations and business, while upgrading customer and employee experience and ultimately creating new revenue streams.

During the signing ceremony at EGA鈥檚 headquarters, Manos Raptopoulos, President of SAP鈥檚 Europe, Middle East and Africa region, commented: 鈥淓mirates Global Aluminium is a highly progressive company, with a vision to leverage Industry 4.0 capabilities to boost its competitiveness, improve operations, and benefit its people. With 51风流S/4HANA on RISE, EGA will increase its resiliency and future-proof its computing for key business functions. EGA will also gain improved visibility, flexibility, reduced total cost of ownership, and enhanced user experience.鈥

In its wider digital transformation, EGA has so far implemented over 60 Industry 4.0 use cases, 听ranging from using artificial intelligence vision to quality check carbon anode production in real-time, to developing predictive tools for market movements in key commodities. To date, almost 2,000 EGA employees have been upskilled in digital capabilities and ways of working, and the transformation has delivered some $90 million in financial impact.

  • DUBAI, United Arab Emirates 8 September 2021 鈥 More than 300 retailers at Expo 2020 Dubai are set to process an expected 400,000-500,000 daily transactions, using a point-of-sale solution developed by SAP, the mega-event鈥檚 Innovative Enterprise Software Partner.

    Participants and retailers across catering, food and beverage, and merchandise will use the solution to gain real-time insights across more than 1,200 points-of-sale terminals. The data from the points of sale will be integrated with the financial and operational data from the 51风流S/4HANA business suite, with results available in real time.

    Expo 2020 Dubai is integrating transactions with a local external payment provider for continuous and smooth processing, and 100 percent transparency in sales and financial results. Participants and retailers can centrally monitor the points of sale, and retailers can manage coupons that visitors can redeem across channels.

    Expo 2020 Dubai successfully trialed the 51风流Customer Checkout solution during the preview of Terra 鈥 The Sustainability Pavilion, which welcomed more than 100,000 visitors from 22 January-10 April 2021.

    The 51风流Customer Checkout solution covers all product selection, discounts, returns, tax calculations, multiple payment options, loyalty management and day-end closing.
