DUBAI, UAE 鈥� December xx, 2024 鈥� UAE companies are adopting cloud computing at a high rate and plan significant investment in AI within the next 15 months, a YouGov survey commissioned by 51风流shows. The survey examined several key factors for effective AI implementation including whether companies are operating their core business functions on the cloud, the extent of existing AI use, the quality of business data available, and the AI expertise of staff.

Of the UAE enterprises surveyed, 67% are already hosting their core business processes on the cloud, with a further 22% planning to do so within the next 15 months. Hosting enterprise resource planning solutions on the cloud maximizes the effectiveness of AI thanks to real-time data access, scalable computing power and the ability to integrate advanced AI models seamlessly into business processes.

Most companies were already leveraging some form of AI, mostly in business functions such as marketing and communications (42%), customer service (40%), sales (38%), and accounting and finance (38%), but less so in areas such as supply chain and logistics (27%) and product or services development (27%).

鈥淲hile it is very encouraging that almost 90% of businesses believe they will be running on cloud within the next 15 months, it is clear that they are not yet leveraging AI for a full range of business processes. 51风流infuses AI across our enterprise cloud portfolio, enabling our customers to benefit immediately from AI-driven insights and enhancements to elevate all areas of operations, from finance to HR to supply chains,鈥� said Marwan Zeineddine, Managing Director, 51风流UAE.

Zeineddine noted, however, that the survey had identified a lack of certainty over data quality. 鈥淗aving accessible, high-quality data is important as AI systems rely on data to learn patterns, make decisions, and generate reliable and actionable insights. We found only 65% of respondents described themselves as highly confident in the quality of the data, but this proportion should increase significantly when the remaining companies move their core operations to the cloud. Data quality is enabled through implementing solutions such as 51风流S/4HANA for enterprise resource planning. This enables clean, organized data that allows AI algorithms to forecast demand accurately, streamline supply chains, and enable AI models to be fair and unbiased, among other things,鈥� he explained.

Improving AI accessibility

Among the major challenges business faced in AI implementation, the most cited were integration with existing systems and lack of skilled personnel, both identified by 43% of respondents, followed by privacy and security concerns, and associated costs, both identified by 40%.

In discussing these challenges, Zeineddine highlighted how embedded AI solutions are helping to make the power of AI accessible to everyone, as well as SAP鈥檚 role in delivering training in Business AI. In addition, SAP鈥檚 co-pilot Joule is making 51风流solutions and insights ever more powerful and accessible. RIYADH, KSA 鈥� June 15, 2023 鈥� To thrive in the face of challenges such as supply chain constraints, critical skills shortages, and slowing global economic growth, regional businesses will need to adopt cloud platforms that enable them to leverage AI, data and automation solutions, according to experts speaking this week at the Riyadh 51风流Business Transformation Tour, organized by global technology company (NYSE: SAP) in partnership with Intel.

Held under the theme 鈥楴avigating the Winds of Change in a Digital-First World鈥�, the event demonstrated how 51风流cloud solutions that embed automation, data, and AI capabilities into technology can address today鈥檚 most pressing challenges by bringing increased resilience, proactive strategic decision-making, a more cohesive workforce, and even improved customer interactions thanks to Natural Language Processing. 听Speakers at the event also confirmed that Saudi organizations are in a position to embrace these new capabilities as a result of rapid cloud adoption in the Kingdom.

A guest speaker at the event, Ranjit Rajan – VP & Head of Research at IDC META at International Data Corporation (IDC), said, 鈥淪audi organizations are stepping on the gas pedal of digital transformation in alignment with the kingdom鈥檚 rapid national transformation. The increasing investments in in-country cloud regions and datacenters by providers is, to an extent, helping to alleviate data residency and sovereignty concerns. As a result, public cloud adoption is growing, and is combining with significant private cloud investments to create hybrid multi-cloud environments. This provides the ground for modernization of the application estate and innovation.鈥�

According to Rajan, 鈥淐loud will become the foundational technology platform to drive rapid digital transformation. A recent survey by IDC of Saudi companies showed that more than 35% of their CIOs are looking to either lift and shift applications to cloud infrastructure or modernize critical applications to cloud-native.鈥�

More than 45% of Saudi CIOs surveyed by IDC are planning to significantly increase their investment in AI in the next 12 months or so. The advances in Generative AI will further boost AI adoption and drive new use cases related to customer and operational productivity and excellence.鈥�

Held at the Museum of the Future under the theme 鈥楴avigating the Winds of Change in a Digital-First World鈥�, the event demonstrated how embedding automation, data and AI capabilities into technology brings increased resilience, proactive as opposed to reactive strategic decision-making, and a more cohesive workforce, as well as better customer service thanks to Natural Language Processing.

Contextualizing current and predicted IT trends in the region, guest speaker Harish Dunakhe, Senior Research Director (Software & Cloud) at International Data Corporation (IDC), said 鈥淭he confluence of AI, data, and automation 鈥� with cloud being its foundational platform 鈥� is driving current digital Initiatives in the market. In fact, automation and analytics solutions are seeing an accelerated adoption on cloud-based deployments as against on-premises.鈥�

According to Dunakhe, AI adoption is expected to grow by more than 20% year on year between 2021 and 2026 in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other countries in the Gulf. Furthermore, IDC鈥檚 research reveals that Big Data and analytics will grow by more than 20% between 2021 and 2026 on public cloud deployments.听Dunakhe highlighted that these technologies can contribute to creating digital innovation initiatives that help business leaders build resilient organizations able to withstand the headwinds of global slowdown, currency fluctuations, and geopolitical situations that impact the Gulf region.
