Fuelling this momentum, businesses across the country are <strong>investing US$31 million in AI<\/strong> this year \u2014 outpacing the global average \u2014 with focussed spending on software, infrastructure, talent, and consulting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAI is transforming how businesses operate, not just by automating tasks, but by enabling smarter, faster decisions across mission-critical processes,\u201d <strong>said <em>Philipp Herzig, Chief Technology Officer, 51风流SE<\/em>.<\/strong> \u00a0\u201cAt SAP, we combine trusted business data with AI that reasons, acts, and learns \u2014 helping organizations tackle complex challenges in finance, HR, and supply chain with confidence. The real value of AI emerges when innovation meets execution, making intelligent systems a seamless part of how businesses run.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key findings from the report:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Indian<\/strong><strong> organizations are turning AI into measurable business value <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Indian businesses are investing <strong>US$31 million<\/strong> in AI across IT, infrastructure, talent, and consulting, ahead of the <strong>US$26.7 million<\/strong> global average.<\/li>\n<li>Organizational investments in AI are projected to rise by an average of <strong>33% over the next two years. <\/strong>That investment is expected to drive <strong>ROI of 15% this year <\/strong>(an average of US$5.7m), which is expected to double in two years\u2019 time to 31% ($15.3m).<\/li>\n<li><strong>56% <\/strong>are <strong>satisfied with current ROI on AI<\/strong>, and <strong>58% expect AI<\/strong> initiatives to deliver positive ROI <strong>faster than other technology investments<\/strong> \u2014 the highest globally.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>India\u2019s Focus on AI Deepens, Driving Data-Led Growth and Impact<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Majority of businesses expect <strong>AI <\/strong>to be central to<strong> business processes<\/strong>, <strong>decision making, <\/strong>and<strong> customer offerings <\/strong>by<strong> 2030<\/strong> with only 3% saying otherwise.<\/li>\n<li>Most businesses are <strong>scaling AI automation<\/strong> and <strong>experimenting<\/strong> with<strong> generative AI<\/strong> leading to <strong>AI supporting 23% business tasks<\/strong> today, <strong>rising to 41% <\/strong>in<strong> 2 years<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>AI has helped <strong>36% of businesses address key challenges<\/strong>, driving better insights (44%), greater innovation (37%), and stronger customer engagement (36%).<\/li>\n<li><strong>78% are integrating AI into workforce planning<\/strong> through <strong>upskilling and reskilling<\/strong> to enable an AI-powered future.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Challenges to AI Adoption in India <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>AI adoption remains fragmented, with <strong>48% organisations reporting piecemeal<\/strong> investments and <strong>27% pursuing department-led initiatives<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>AI skills remain a barrier to scale, with <strong>64% organisations<\/strong> citing incomplete, comprehensive AI training.<\/li>\n<li><strong>67% of organizations<\/strong> remain concerned about <strong>shadow AI<\/strong>, with risks across inaccurate outputs (63%), data leakage (53%), security vulnerabilities (42%), and compliance violations (34%).<\/li>\n<li>While <strong>42% of businesses report adequate data readiness for AI<\/strong>, <strong>more than half<\/strong> remain <strong>unsure<\/strong> about sharing and integrating data internally (52%) or with external partners (51%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Agent-Enabled Future of Business Transformation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the next two years, Indian businesses expect <strong>ROI of 7%<\/strong> (approximately\u00a0<strong>US$2.8 million) <\/strong>from <strong>agentic AI<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>85%<\/strong> of Indian businesses rate <strong>AI agents as having moderate to high potential to transform operations<\/strong> with 50% agreeing that AI agents can add significant value to their business by managing complex workflows across business units.<\/li>\n<li><strong>49% businesses<\/strong> believe Agentic AI will significantly influence their <strong>strategic planning<\/strong> in the <strong>next two years.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Indian enterprises are driving real business outcomes by adopting AI. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sap.com\/asset\/dynamic\/2025\/09\/72b8b6e8-1f7f-0010-bca6-c68f7e60039b.html\">JK Cement<\/a>, a leader in the building materials industry, has cut procurement processing time by nearly 50% using 51风流Business AI and data cloud, and is now scaling these efficiencies across departments.
