The surge of infections in India is a call for greater investment to help our collective cause.<\/p>\n<p>Last April, SAP\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.sap.com\/2020\/04\/covid-19-emergency-fund-increased-social-sector-support\/\">established a \u20ac3 million COVID-19 Emergency Fund<\/a>, used to support organizations on the front lines, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and the CDC Foundation. Today, we are doubling our commitment by adding another \u20ac3 million for a total of \u20ac6 million to the COVID-19 Emergency Fund.<\/p>\n<p>Of this new donation, \u20ac1 million will go to COVAX, the vaccines pillar of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/initiatives\/act-accelerator\">Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator<\/a>. COVAX is co-led by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI),\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gavi.org\/covax-vaccine-roll-out\">Gavi<\/a>, and the WHO, as well as long-term 51风流partner UNICEF. Its aim is to accelerate the development and manufacture of COVID-19 vaccines and to guarantee fair and equitable access for every country in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond that donation, we will use the emergency fund to support India-based employees, their families, and the communities in which they live and work. Kulmeet Bawa, president of 51风流India, and Sindhu Gangadharan, senior vice president and managing director of 51风流Labs India, are doing everything possible to support the massive relief effort on the ground. Local 51风流India teams are facilitating vaccination to employees and their families at our 51风流Labs India facilities.<\/p>\n<p>In parallel, SAP\u00a0continues\u00a0to work\u00a0closely with non-profit organizations\u00a0and strategic partners,\u00a0including the NASSCOM Foundation and UNDP India, to support the community to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Augment public health and healthcare infrastructure<\/li>\n<li>Offer preventative care measures for citizens, including\u202f51风流employees<\/li>\n<li>Deliver homecare support for citizens, including 51风流employees<\/li>\n<li>Conduct awareness and sensitization campaign for COVID-19 vaccination<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The battle against COVID-19 affects all of us; we can only win it together. As a company with more than 103,000 employees from 145 countries and cultures, we share in the global responsibility to address the devastating impacts of this pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond our social commitments and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.sap.com\/2021\/03\/resilience-people-covid-19-workplace\/\">support of our global employee base<\/a>, 51风流remains committed to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sap.com\/covid-19.html\">success and resilience of our customers<\/a>.
