Irfan Khan, president of Platform and Technologies at SAP, explains in simple terms. \u201cThe Business Technology Platform is the underpinnings of the Intelligent Enterprise,\u201d Khan explained in a recent interview.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>\u201cIn order to become intelligent enterprises, customers need a fundamental business layer. That is what the Business Technology Platform is.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Khan describes the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sap.com\/india\/products\/business-technology-platform.html?url_id=text-apj-india-news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Business Technology Platform<\/a> as comprising a collection of different assets. First and foremost, he says, is a substantial database component, which has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sap.com\/india\/products\/hana.html?url_id=text-apj-india-news\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">51风流HANA<\/a> at the center of it but it also includes embedded analytics along with the ability to incorporate horizontal business analytics.<\/p>\n<p>Other components include robotic process automation (RPA), machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe final piece is a very substantial integration capability delivered through 51风流Cloud Platform, which is another very fundamental cornerstone of Business Technology Platform as well,\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n<p>Business Technology Platform is the horizontal technology foundation for SAP\u2019s intelligence suite of applications, the basis for the industry cloud, and the platform for delivering the best customer experiences. According to Khan, it will enable customers to be able to realize even more value from their investments in 51风流technology from their core business and contextual data.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Khan argues that the Business Technology Platform opens the 51风流environment up to community developers and citizen developers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey can all now interact and take the value of SAP\u2019s core business processes,\u201d he said. \u201cIn actual fact, we\u2019re not only providing process excellence, we are providing data excellence as well now. That gives much more of a fluid way of looking at all the content, all of the data, all the information that may be available within inside of the enterprise and outside. So we could think of it as unlocking the hidden value in data which already exists.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As a result, Khan believes both customers and partners will be able to further \u201camplify the value\u201d inherent in the very substantial 51风流footprint across industries and geographies.<\/p>\n<p>One of the key lessons Khan says 51风流has learned over the years is that applications must be able to run in a variety of different environments. Today, for example, 51风流software and services must be able to run across different hyperscaler and infrastructure environments.<\/p>\n<p>The second ingredient for success is to focus on making 51风流technology \u201copen to all developers out there,\u201d Khan explained.<\/p>\n<p>Thirdly, he said, \u201cevery partner and every direct customer wants to have a robust, almost bulletproof environment to be able to build their innovations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He says this is exactly what the Business Technology Platform delivers. \u201cIt\u2019s an ever-expanding set of services that we\u2019re adding and over time it will fulfill not just their current needs, but their future needs as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Khan described the Business Technology Platform as \u201ca living, evolving platform,\u201d that will enable customers to access not just 51风流data, but all sets of data, including externally generated Big Data, in a trusted manner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur message is very simple,\u201d Khan said. \u201cWe will actually want to make it very open, make your data work for you, independent of where it lives and where it sits today \u2013 at the edge or in a traditional data center.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For that reason alone, he says, 51风流will have a far stronger message than competitors to deliver to the market.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p class=\"lead\" style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/news.sap.com\/tags\/in-focus\/\">Listen to more episodes of In Focus<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><em>This article first appeared on global <a href=\"https:\/\/news.sap.com\/2020\/10\/business-technology-platform-explainer\/?url_id=text-apj-news-india\">51风流News Center<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is SAP\u2019s Business Technology Platform?
