India鈥檚 national AI conversation听has reached听a听fever-pitch.听This was palpable at the recent听India AI Impact Summit 2026, a pivotal forum where industry leaders and policymakers听discussed听the shift from digital to digitally intelligent听world enabled by AI.听Speaking at the event, it听was clear that the dialogue has shifted from “what if” to “how now.”

While the Summit听was听historic听in terms of听outcomes,听including the New Delhi Declaration and听an increasing focus on听sovereignty,听it also revealed a divergence in perspective.听The public image听of听India鈥檚 AI听opportunity听is听gripped by听what鈥檚听most visible:听tools that generate听content and听reshape how听we听interact with technology. But the more consequential story is unfolding away from the spotlight.听

To understand where this transformation is truly taking shape,听let鈥檚听distinguish between听the听two dimensions of AI.听Consumer-centred听AI is the lightbulb that illuminates possibility,听creativity听and听assistance. Enterprise-focused听AI, by contrast, is the power plant听that听quietly and reliably energises听operations at scale. While one captures imagination, the other delivers outcomes.听

Encouragingly, adoption of this听Enterprise听AI听is already听gaining momentum.听According to the recent听51风流Value of AI听survey, in听collaboration with Oxford Economics,听nearly听a听quarter of business tasks in India today are supported by AI. In less than two years, that share is expected to rise to over 40%. Even more telling is the confidence behind this acceleration,听with 93% Indian enterprises expecting measurable returns from their AI investments within the next one to three years.听

This is India鈥檚 inflection point.听Having moved beyond听initial听exploration,听India鈥檚听focus is now on bringing greater alignment and coherence to unlock AI鈥檚 full enterprise potential.

From Experimentation to Integration

The next phase of India鈥檚 journey requires a shift from isolated pilots to听everyday听execution. AI must become a core capability听as part of our听supply chains, finance, human capital, and customer engagement. This transformation听can rest on four pillars:

  • The Demographic Dividend:听India鈥檚 greatest advantage is its people.听The听deep technology talent pool gives听the country听a strong foundation听to take AI from small experiments to realworld impact听enabled by听a continued听investment听in reskilling and domain-led AI听expertise.
  • Data Foundations:听AI demands听accurate, contextual, and interconnected data from across the business.听听As听we scale听adoption,听the next phase will rely on听strengthening听our听data foundations听to听create听semantically rich environments听to power听more effective AI systems.
  • AI as an Amplifier:听The more critical the application, the more AI depends on the structured processes and traceability that robust enterprise systems provide.听
  • Trust as a Catalyst:听As AI integrates into critical infrastructure, trust听will听become the primary currency of scale. India鈥檚 evolving regulatory frameworks听like the听data protection laws听offer听guardrails that enable speed.听

Redefining Value: The IMPACT听

In an unpredictable global economy,听we must look beyond traditional financial metrics. While Return on Investment (ROI)听remains听a baseline,听it鈥檚听time we move to return on impact. The IMPACT can be seen as:

There鈥檚 no better-proving ground for the incredible power of digitalized food chains than India, one of the most populated countries worldwide. As India鈥檚 leading food agritech company, 听has pioneered a data-driven strategy designed to close the gap between supply and demand, decreasing food waste and increasing revenue for every organization across the value chain.

鈥淲ith one integrated platform that connects data from farmers through processing, warehouses, and retail, we are transforming the traditional food chain from supplier-driven to demand-driven,鈥 said Karthik Jayaraman, co-founder and managing director at WayCool. 鈥淲e selected听听because it is a flexible, cloud-based foundation for our growing business.听听provides a single source of truth company-wide and across our ecosystem, helping us produce and deliver the delicious food that consumers want on their table.鈥

The company has already reduced food wastage by up to 96% while improving the average income of farmers by over 13%.

WayCool Creates Sustainable Food Supply Chain with Cloud Tech

Data Insights Align Food Supply with Demand

Putting predictability and farming in the same sentence might seem like a stretch in a world rocked by disruptions like extreme weather and geopolitical conflicts. However, WayCool orchestrates a groundbreaking collaborative effort. It starts with farmers who produce the fruits, vegetables, and other staples that feed the Indian population and extends to partners, warehouse operations, distribution, and retailers.

鈥淪haring information with our partners in procurement who run processing and warehouse facilities, along with transportation logistics and retail, we can align supply with the right pricing for greater efficiencies and governance that produces the highest quality products,鈥 said Avinash Kasinathan, chief technology officer at WayCool. 鈥淒ata transparency also means that farmers can base field production on actual market demand and consumption.鈥

Farmer Income Grows with Data-Driven Strategy

WayCool鈥檚 ability to trace products from farm to end consumer provides the company and its ecosystem with forecasting and planning insights based on real-time customer feedback and market demands. Using this connected data, WayCool makes recommendations to farmers on what fruits and vegetables to grow for the highest yields and uptake at the best prices.

Fourth-generation farmer Hari Prasad, located in a village called Karnataka on the outskirts of East Bangalore, is one of the over 200,000 farmers that WayCool provides with detailed cultivation plans.

鈥淯nlike traditional farming, WayCool recommends what to plant, when, and where, letting us know up front what they鈥檒l purchase at fair prices based on harvest time frames and factoring in staggered market demands,鈥 he said. 鈥淲e don鈥檛 have to worry about whether or not we鈥檒l sell our yield, and we can calculate continuous earnings in a more predictable and consistent manner.鈥

Although farmers may have smaller yields, harvesting crops on a more consistent basis throughout the year levels out supply and demand spikes and downturns. If crop prices fall one week and rise the next, farmers can average out major risks with a steadier stream of income over time.

AI-Based Technologies Reduce Waste and Boost Crop Yields

WayCool has infused听AI听capabilities across its digitalized supply chain to increase quality yield and decrease waste. AI is built into the recommendation engine that tells retailers which products on their shelves will sell faster according to store location demographics. In the field, farmers use AI-based image recognition to quickly identify plant diseases and set up treatment plans. -based sensors in the soil send farmers alerts on weather patterns to guide more cost-efficient and sustainable irrigation decisions. The company is exploring generative AI use cases as well.

For WayCool and its partners, sustainable business encompasses the full range of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments. Digitalization has an important role, for example, in regenerative farming practices. Farmers can use data-driven insights to produce stronger seeds for biodiversity, growing crops that are more climate-resilient and use less water and fertilizer in healthier soil.

Looking ahead, Jayaraman is eager to bring WayCool鈥檚 digitalized business model from India to other regions such as Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.

鈥淭he food supply chain is a huge global market, yet agribusiness is one of the least digitized industries,鈥 said Jayaraman. 鈥淲e鈥檝e experienced how technology is revolutionizing food chains in India, and we鈥檙e excited about bringing people in other parts of the world greater access to affordable, quality food for the next generation of sustainable agriculture.鈥

The use of Artificial Intelligence in the business landscape is expanding. From predictive analytics to deep learning to chatbots and picture recognition, AI and machine learning are transforming how organizations communicate with customers and offer more in less time. And recent circumstances have sped up the pace of this transformation. According to research, the pandemic has accelerated AI rollout for 43% of businesses. Another study by claims that AI adoption has skyrocketed in finance (37%-point-increase), retail (27%-point-increase), and IT (20%-point-increase).

Artificial intelligence

Clearly, AI is increasingly being used behind the scenes to help businesses improve efficiency, optimize operations, and boost productivity. However, many firms still struggle to understand how AI best fits their business strategy. Recent indicates that 7 out of 10 companies reported minimal or no impact from the contributions of AI鈥揳 missed opportunity. Multiple studies and surveys have highlighted the significant differences between leaders鈥攃ompanies that understand and have implemented AI鈥攁nd laggards. The comprehension of AI data and training, as well as the attitude to it, is one of the key differences.

To close the 鈥楢I-outcome-expectations gap,鈥 senior management needs to grasp the benefits AI brings to the table and understand the baseline strategies required to make a lasting, strategic change.

The advantages of AI for businesses today

Much has been written (and spoken) about AI and its use in business. Automation, data analytics, and natural language processing are just a few commercial areas where artificial intelligence is already in use. These three disciplines of AI are streamlining operations and increasing efficiencies across sectors. This leads to quantitative and qualitative advantages such as:

  • Increased productivity:听According to , business productivity in developed countries can increase by up to 40% by 2035, owing to AI.
  • Greater economic benefits: A predicts that 83% of companies have already achieved either moderate (53%) or substantial (30%) economic benefits from their AI projects.

Artificial intelligence

  • More time for meaningful work: Companies often evaluate AI solutions in three key areas:
    • Whether AI can automate processes to empower higher-value work (47%)
    • Whether it provides trust in business outcomes (40%)
    • Whether it offers the ability to deploy anywhere鈥攐n any public cloud, private cloud or on-premises (40%)

In other words, a robust AI solution can empower businesses to achieve business efficiencies and free up valuable human talent for skilled work.

  • Improved business value:听A study by suggests that AI augmentation will create $2 trillion of business value by 2021鈥揺qualling 6 billion hours of worker productivity worldwide.
  • Competitive advantage: As per a study conducted by , around three-quarters of executives attribute AI to be the key-enabler for venturing into new businesses. Around 85% believe AI will help the brand obtain鈥搊r sustain鈥揳 competitive advantage.

The list is endless. However, whether you’re a giant corporation with ample resources or a smaller firm with the much-needed nimbleness, AI adoption can be a tricky process. What is required is an understanding of the tradeoffs associated with each technology. Understanding these technologies and tradeoffs will help businesses decide how to best meet planned goals, which vendors to choose, and how quickly they can put a system like this in place.

Understanding鈥揳nd bridging鈥搕he gap to be AI-ready

Not investing in the right AI-enablers can do more harm than good. To capitalize on AI鈥檚 true potential, businesses need to have a robust AI-centric strategy in place. Such a strategy ideally requires:

  • A connection between the data and AI-friendly business teams: An IT-driven siloed AI operational model cannot produce impactful results. In fact, research indicates that increasing data complexity and data silos (32%) are top barriers to AI adoption. Clearly, AI and data by themselves lend little value to business operations.
To extract the deep-buried analytics and drive performance, the leadership team should reinforce greater collaboration and synergy between the data group and the business teams. The end goal is to solve the problems and issues together, preferably using a bottom-up approach.
  • Experienced and accountable AI professionals: Limited AI expertise or knowledge grapples 39% of organizations, according to a recent IBM Artificial intelligence is a completely different ball game. Companies need to reconfigure the workforce with the right mix of talent, skill, and experience in equal measure. While AI-powered initiatives are partnership-led, the entire effort should be championed by a single point-of-contact, for example, a Chief AI Officer.
  • A crystal-clear (data)focus on the tangible benefits: To effectively tune out the data noise, there needs to be a 鈥榮ingular鈥 focus on choosing projects that can be categorized as absolutely 鈥榥ecessary.鈥 Moreover, the data and AI should be intrinsically tied to the corporate end-goals. If the business problem is not solvable by AI, all the effort and investment will go to waste. Long story short, these projects should be able to provide tangible values and benefits, such as lower customer churn, acquiring new customers, and so on. In addition, it is critical to view the end goals as use-cases or benefit-driven outcomes. This step is essential for value building and can build credibility within the teams.
  • Strategic stakeholder- and project-alignment and a greater CEO involvement: This strategy focuses on building momentum and confidence within the stakeholders. A recent throws light on the importance of strategic AI implementation. The report claims that strategically scaling AI offers 3X the return as compared to businesses pursuing siloed proof of concepts. This can easily happen if there is buy-in from all the key stakeholders across all three stages of project development: before, during, and after. By fostering stakeholder trust and leadership alignment early on in the project, businesses can pave the way for successful and sustainable projects.
  • Realistic expectations on AI scalability:听When scaling AI, most businesses fall into the 鈥榰nrealistic expectations鈥 trap鈥揳 big mistake. A copy-paste approach never works with AI. What may work for some businesses might not work for others. Therefore, taking the time to link AI to the business strategy is key. There are numerous ways to do this, such as:
    • Launching a proof-of-concept project that can effectively demonstrate value and providing the required 鈥榚vidence鈥 before proceeding with full-force
    • Starting small, with a simpler use case project, and gathering all the necessary data and technology to make the project feasible
    • Experimenting and learning new approaches and not focusing on efficiency gains too much while experimenting
    • Constantly measuring the efficacy of the AI solutions being used
    • Spending enough time, effort, and energy into understanding how AI can deliver results within the business work environment
  • Increased and well-conceived investment:听One of the biggest factors of low-yielding returns is significant under-investment into the existing infrastructure. To leverage artificial intelligence and create an analytics-ready foundation, it is high-time organizations invest in fair and trustworthy tools and platforms. These tools should ideally be explainable by design and should enable enterprises to develop AI models seamlessly and scalably. There鈥檚 also a greater need to invest in new skills and expertise on a significant scale.
  • In-depth project planning from pilot to long-term: AI projects should always be viewed with respect to 鈥榩rogress鈥 down a funnel. There should be a clear idea and proof-of-concept at the beginning and detailed steps for execution towards the end. This type of project pipeline can be augmented with tried-and-tested project management principles such as resource analysis, stakeholder communication, change management analysis, etc.
  • A robust governance structure: Enterprises need to build trust within and outside the organization to unlock untapped potential of artificial intelligence. Being AI-driven means bringing about a change in mindset rather than mindlessly upgrading a stack of futuristic software. By building a transparent and cross-domain structure around data governance, organizations can leverage best practices and benefit from a solid AI-ready foundation. It is all about identifying the right roles, setting realistic expectations, and managing accountability.

Artificial intelligence

AI is augmenting multiple business areas; from automating everyday workflows to enhancing the customer experience, its applications are aplenty. But there are some real questions business leaders should be asking themselves:

Am we actually leveraging the full potential of AI, is it designed to fit the business needs?鈥澨

Are we able to move past the deployment and adoption barriers?鈥

Are we genuinely AI-ready?鈥

In short, instead of viewing AI projects as a one-off investment or embracing it as a tangent of moonshot thinking, businesses need to have:

  • An AI-first strategy:听Having complete clarity and vision of artificial intelligence and data across the value chain is the stepping stone to success.
  • A strong skills and culture-driven base:听The next logical step is to build a foundation based on strong technical know-how and a stronger 鈥AI-ethics-driven鈥 cultural mindset. Furthermore, businesses need to forge ahead with greater trust, collaboration, and systematic alignment between teams and instill a culture of experimentation to drive AI innovation.
  • An iterative and adaptive approach in place:听Businesses need to be ever-ready to make changes to the business initiatives, the people, and the processes as required. Without an iterative approach and agile decision-making, leaders can get stuck in a rut.

In short:听AI-readiness for organizations is not a small ask. It requires a cultural shift, a change in the technological paradigm, and most importantly, an establishment of a data-driven value chain that is people-focused鈥揵e it the internal employees or the external stakeholders. Irrespective of the tools, platforms, skills, or methodologies organizations embrace, a tangible, intentional, and change-focused AI strategy will always emerge as the winning combination.

Naturally, every player wants to make the most of the myriad opportunities present in the market. Consequently, competition among different pharmaceutical companies has been fierce. Numerous parameters are driving this intense competition within the sector:

  • Greater innovation: Companies are competing with each other in the infectious disease landscape to drive innovation. In fact,听Covid-19has paved the way for a听dollar vaccine market.
  • Value-driven care: Some companies are competing on customer experience, with organizations going above and beyond their call of duty. For instance, Eli Lilly, an American pharmaceutical company, is offering support to its diabetic patients who have lost their jobs or their insurance policies due to Covid-19.
  • Change in operations: As per听a recent , there is a fundamental change in pharma operations. Covid-19 has forced companies to be more open-minded, transparent, and agile. There is also a greater focus on improving network risks, both within and outside the workforce.
  • Increased transparency: While the traditional-and-highly-regulated pharma industry has always been slow to embrace emerging technologies, the ongoing pandemic has changed the equation. As per the听, the digital revolution has a huge influence on business, bringing both opportunities and challenges. E-commerce, big data, machine learning, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT) are all interconnected phenomena that will significantly boost the economy’s productivity. The consequences of these radical developments are moving beyond the realm of business now. However, millions of lives will be disrupted if conventional economic and societal paradigms, as well as the established marketplaces, are disrupted. Thus, it is vital to prepare ahead to ensure that appropriate policies and institutions are in place to make the most of these developments.

Today鈥檚 organizations generate a lot of data, and the听digital asset management听of the collected data is necessary to take advantage of the same.听The digital era has given birth to ideas and concepts that were before unimaginable. Digitization, digitalization, and digital transformation are three of them. It’s difficult to tell the difference between them because they’re often used interchangeably.听However, knowing the difference is critical for the organization’s business development team as they aim to welcome them on their technological travels.

Difference between Digitization, Digitalization, and Digital Transformation

The terms digitization, digitalization, and digital听transformation听all appear to be the same and are often a source of confusion, but these are certainly very different.

In simple terms,听Digitization听focuses more on internal optimization of processes like automating tasks and minimizing paperwork.听Digitalization听goes far beyond that. It refers to听digital asset management听that helps your firm achieve higher growth, among other benefits.

Digitization is crucial for digitalization. It is used to convert information from analog to digital format. At the same time, digitalization uses digital technologies and data to create new opportunities that change the way customers and businesses interact with each other.

Digital transformation听is the actual corporate transformation that is made possible by听digitalization. The term 鈥榙igital鈥 in the name is a bit misleading; the essence of digital transformation is a change in business processes or business culture, implemented via technology.

Impact of digitalization on enterprises

To be competitive in this new commercial and economic situation, the tactics and technology adopted by organizations need to change. Most executives see the strategic value of technology as an important part of doing business, not just as a source of cost savings.听

In 2004,听Target听outsourced its听, which is considered supplementary, to Amazon. Target redesigned its location and devised a new and updated design that blurred the line between e-commerce and physical stores. Tremendous changes were made in more than 400 stores, which were rebuilt and outfitted using modern technology. Innovation in services also took place in online ordering, in-store pickup, and curbside food pickup.

These investments provided a huge advantage to Target during the pandemic. The sales through curbside pickup service increased by听. The market share of the company increased by $9 Billion, adding $15 Billion to its revenue.

Another example is听Hasbro,听the toy and gaming firm that invested significant money into its digital and data strategy, including听digital asset management. The collected data was used for targeted marketing efforts across many platforms, including a more robust social media push. The information allowed the corporation to understand its clients better and provide parents with appropriate toy and game recommendations. In Q4 of 2020, Hasbro reported more than听听in online sales, an increase of 43% YOY.

Digitized change lies in utilizing new advancements to guarantee the adaptability and versatility requested by clients. Applications providers and technology and infrastructure merchants have acknowledged and profited from the force of innovative advancements like cloud, big data, mobile, social, sensors, and so on.

You can even use the online banking app to pay your prepaid and postpaid bills, without having to leave your house.

  • Social media makes it easier to reach customers听

Social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat and various others have gained a significant influence due to digitalization. Businesses see these platforms as a chance to expand and enhance brand exposure in the digital era. Now, an online user is most likely to come across content created by various organizations to promote their brands, launch new products etc. As per听, the importance of online presence has increased post the pandemic, and only about 20% of B2B customers are expected to return to in-person sales.

听is a superb example of a traditional company that uses social media to increase its brand image. Rolex stands for class, and appeals to the customers by emphasizing its unique, timeless products. The luxury appeal of its high-value products is enhanced with the help of sleek and minimalist visuals in its photography, videos, and other visual work. Such high-quality product photographs enable the brand to have a higher recall value and stand apart from competitors.

  • Reduction in human errors

Business operations have become more streamlined because of digitalization, resulting in lower operating costs. Automation has taken away repetitive and mundane tasks from human employees, lowering the chances of errors. For example, people-powered data entries take a long time to be vetted, verified and cleaned up before they can be used for any purpose. Data that is incomplete or incorrect can stymie product launches and bias strategic analysis. All these hurdles can be done away with through digitalization.

  • Real-time data gathering and analysis is possible

Over the past few decades, organizations have relied on data collected from various sources, manual data cleansing and standardization. This traditional analytical model is labor-intensive, costly, time-consuming, and depends too much on the skills of data analysts.

Digital media marketers can now capture data, store it, analyze it and communicate results, all in a matter of minutes. This provides businesses with valuable customer knowledge in one place. Marketers can also look at campaigns to see what’s working and what’s not, so businesses can quickly adapt to the current trends to improve their results.

  • Introduction of new communication channels

The use of digital technology has resulted in the introduction of new communication channels as well as a rise in a company’s digital presence. Emails, smartphone apps, and social media are just a few examples of the current communication methods. Forward-looking companies are aiming at creating a seamlessapproach for their customers. Here, their experience of interacting with the company using numerous digital communication channels is smooth and enjoyable.

  • Pooling of knowledge sources and skills

We now have access to limitless experiences and data, thanks to digitalization. Every business can utilize information that exists outside conventional bounds. Similarly, companies that understand how to bring collaborative groups together can grow and generate surplus economic value. Digitization allows diverse individuals to collaborate, bridging the gap between IT and non-IT departments and changing the way firms generate value.

  • Transaction costs are lower

Documentation, reconciliation, mail generation, calling, data entry, overtime, and supervision are those areas where digitalization facilitates the reduction in costs. Online businesses see easier operation management, which leads to lowered transaction costs.

  • Expansion in Revenue

The primary goal of any business is income generation; higher the revenue, greater the growth. A colossal effect impact on revenue generation is observed in organizations that have introduced digital changes. Using innovative digital solutions in your organization provides you a competitive advantage, and a well-thought-out digitalization strategy may help you rethink procedures, enhance quality, and promote consistency.听

In conclusion

Thus, digitalization is more an opportunity than a challenge for all companies, regardless of their industry, location, or market. Digitally driven advances have not only changed the enterprise but have redefined the scope of leadership. To explore the full potential of such a change, choose an experienced partner like 51风流that can combine multi-industry expertise with state-of-the-art technical capabilities.
