Mumbai – 29 April 2024 鈥 At , a flagship customer event attended by over 2000 delegates, 51风流unveiled a new 鈥榮ustainability study鈥 that highlights that 86% of Indian organizations see a moderate to strong relationship between sustainability and their organization鈥檚 profitability 鈥 and are boosting their investments as a result.

Commenting on the survey findings, Paul Marriott, President, 51风流Asia Pacific Japan, said, 鈥淭he Asian market represents more than 50 percent of the world鈥檚 emissions, and so as one of the fastest growing hotbeds of innovation and economic activity in the region, India is in a unique position to lead the charge against climate change. It is an encouraging sign that more and more Indian organizations recognize this and are ready to embrace it.

Manish Prasad, President, and Managing Director of 51风流Indian Subcontinent, further added, 鈥淪ustainability is now a business necessity rather than merely a moral duty. It can no longer be seen as distinct from the overall financial performance of the company. It is evident from the findings of our study that businesses that prioritize sustainability are more successful. The moment has come to consider carbon data similarly to financial data in all corporate processes by integrating financial and environmental decision-making.鈥

Reaping Profits and Efficiency Gains from Sustainability Investments:

  • While 77% of Indian businesses have witnessed sustainability strategies contributing to outcomes such as revenue or profit growth to a moderate or strong degree. Similarly, 84% of Indian respondents saw a moderate or strong increase in the efficiency of business processes from sustainability activities.
  • 58% of Indian businesses expect to a positive financial return on their sustainability investments within the next five years. In India, 39% of businesses intend to increase their investments in sustainability over the next three years.

Lack of Environmental impact strategy emerges as the top challenge:

  • The lack of an environmental impact strategy is the top barrier to taking environmental action with 40% of Indian businesses finding it a challenge.
  • Other notable challenges include uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic, clear direction on embedding sustainability into business processes and IT systems, and a shortage of expertise.

Indian businesses looking to unlock the value of sustainability data:

  • Businesses today believe that extracting value from sustainability data is critical for informed decision making. If our sustainability data is not accurate, then the decisions we make to improve the health of our planet and our businesses are cast into doubt.The key is to record and report accurate, granular, and auditable sustainability data and integrate it with financial data to make the right business decision.
  • While 40% of Indian businesses are completely satisfied with the quality of the sustainability data they gather, others believe it鈥檚 a long way to go.

Indian businesses demand sustainability data from their ecosystem:

  • Almost 8 in 10 of (78%) Indian businesses report moderate or strong tracking of Scope 1 emissions, while that number is 77% for Scope 2 emissions, and 65% for Scope 3 emissions.
  • 69% of Indian businesses use sustainability data to inform strategic and operational decision-making to a moderate to strong degree. Subsequently, three-quarters (75%) of respondents said they require sustainability data from their suppliers and 78% demand environmental impact data from partners like logistics and fulfilment to a moderate to strong degree.

BENGALURU, India 鈥 51风流Labs India today announced that a new batch of 16 startups would join the 2020-2021 cohort of 51风流Startup Studio program. The startups will get guidance from the 51风流experts, an opportunity to co-innovate with teams and access to the partner ecosystem.

  • 16 startups in the 2020-2021 cohort will have access to co-innovate with SAP, and two promising growth-stage startups will engage with 51风流Partner Edge Build program

The current cohort of enterprise technology startups is a balance of early and growth stage, with a high level of go-to-market readiness. They are working on cutting edge technology solutions across industries. These include Predictive Analytics, Blockchain, Machine Learning, Cloud, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Drone Tech, Augmented reality and Virtual reality. 51风流Startup Studio aims to build a platform that helps early and growth-stage startups with opportunities to mature and expand their businesses in a nurturing environment.

This year, 51风流Startup Studio has three new offerings for the startups:

  • Opportunity to list their co-innovated solution with 51风流on the 51风流App Center via program
  • Access to active go-to-market support from 51风流India Marketing
  • Entry to SAP鈥檚 newly established – Innovation Center Network (ICN) to work on joint research projects and become part of SAP鈥檚 core offerings.

Additionally, startups will also have access to the Tier 1 and Tier 2 VC ecosystem in India and think tanks via NASSCOM 10K Startups, The German Indian Startup Exchange Program (GINSEP), Startup India and TiE Bangalore. Startup Studio鈥檚 existing 12 month-long program, is shortened to six to eight months. Thereby ensuring faster delivery of services and create more significant return-on-investment for the startups collaborating with SAP.

The fourth cohort of Startup Studio received over 175 applications from outreach partners such as TiE Bangalore, Headstart Network Foundation, GINSEP, NASSCOM 10K Startups and Kerala Startup Mission; and 100+ applications from the startup discovery platform – Tracxn. The final 16 were selected based on the feedback provided by SAP鈥檚 leadership, sales and product engineering team. This year鈥檚 batch has 55% of startups which are in their growth stage with the remaining 45% in their early stage.

States Qualtrics report on 鈥淭he COVID-19 Brand Trust Pulse鈥

New Delhi, May 2020 鈥 With Indian businesses continuing to work remotely adapting to the new normal, a research from Qualtrics shows how this crisis has altered the drivers of Brand Trust for people in India. The study revealed that 69% of respondents believe it鈥檚 important for brands to take care of their employees and customers, and to not take advantage of the crisis to maximize profits.

Qualtrics, the leader in customer experience and creator of the experience management category which conducted the Brand Trust study found that during the COVID-19 outbreak 50% of the respondents said their trust in the brands they regularly engaged with had increased. The study also reveals peoples鈥 trust in government has increased by 72% during COVID-19.

In a similar sentiment, when respondents were asked what behaviors increase trust during the crisis, taking care of employees was the top ranked attribute (37%), followed by not taking advantage of maximising profits during a crisis (36%), and taking care of customers (32%). What respondents found less impactful were providing new products (10%), having an established track record of responding well in times of crisis (17%) and statements about strong moral principles such as integrity (19%).

鈥淏uilding loyalty in a time of crisis can make or break a brand. Our Qualtrics study in India reveals consumers trust brands more, when brands focused on the well-being of customers, the well-being of employees, and not taking advantage of the crisis to maximize profits,鈥 said Lisa Khatri, Brand Experience and Research Lead for Qualtrics in APJ.

鈥淪ince social distancing restrictions were put in place, we have seen huge changes in the ways consumers engage with brands – and these will continue to evolve each time restrictions change. Conducting regular quick research into changing behaviours and trends is crucial for brands in this new normal. It provides a pulse on consumer behaviour, drivers of brand preference, and how brand actions at each stage can positively influence how the brand is viewed, enabling businesses to strengthen and accelerate their recovery,鈥 added Khatri.

To help businesses understand the drivers of brand trust better, Qualtrics launched the free solution 鈥淭he COVID-19 Brand Trust Pulse鈥 as a part of a range of free offerings launched over the last month, which have supported more than 31,000 projects across more than 8,500 organisations. The most recent addition to the free offerings is a solution designed to help companies stay connected with customers, understand their expectations and preferences, and take actions to build customer confidence when businesses reopen their doors.

Other Key Outcomes – Identifying the right messages and medium

When it comes to brand communications, Indians are more interested in the operational impact of COVID-19 compared to sales and promotional marketing. The top three messages respondents wanted to hear were how the business is responding to the crisis (75%), the impact on distribution (48%), and information on products and services (48%).

Findings in the Qualtrics study also revealed how Indians want brands to communicate with them, highlighting a strong preference for tried and tested channels. WhatsApp came out on top as the most preferred communication channel (63%), followed by Facebook (58%), and online media (55%). Bottom of the list was TikTok (18%), Print media (23%), and Radio (24%).

Social distancing restrictions have limited the ways businesses can interact with their consumers, for communications to be effective brands need to find a balance in how often they are communicating, and the topics being discussed. This approach actively demonstrates the value brands bring to keep their customers鈥 attention in rapidly changing markets.
