AUCKLAND, New Zealand 9 May 2023 Corporate food franchisee has implemented multiple 51风流solutions, including 51风流, across its operations in New Zealand, Australia, Hawaii and California. The move has provided the NZX-and ASX-listed company with a single, consistent ERP system for the first time, (NYSE: SAP) today announced.

Restaurant Brands specialises in managing multi-site branded food retail chains. Headquartered in Auckland, it operates KFC stores in New Zealand, Australia and California, Taco Bell stores in Hawaii, Australia and New Zealand, Pizza Hut stores in New Zealand and Hawaii and Carl鈥檚 Jr. stores in New Zealand. It also has customer service centres in Auckland, Sydney, Honolulu and Los Angeles.

The company had grown rapidly, primarily through acquisition, surpassing NZ$1.2 billion revenue in 2022. Previously the organisation operated a number of different systems which meant generating consolidated reports was not easy. The required manual intervention took time and had the potential to introduce errors.

The 51风流implementation, which took 10 months, was managed by 51风流Partner Lagom and comprised of solutions including: 51风流S/4 HANA Private Cloud Edition, 51风流EnableNow, 51风流Concur, and (BTP).

Restaurant Brands is seeing significant business benefits since going live in April 2022. Increased automation has led to faster payment runs, month-end processes and consolidated reports, giving better information for faster decision making. Automation has also freed up resources to enable greater collaboration and sharing of knowledge across the different regions and has also helped to solve the organisation鈥檚 supply chain integration issues, with teams now able to successfully manage supply and demand planning as well as anticipate any future global supply chain disruptions. Over a hundred thousand orders have been placed and processed via the new 51风流system to get produce out to the stores.

Transitioning from a number of systems to a single, new ERP system has given Restaurant Brands the opportunity to implement 51风流Best Practice and align all its operations to a consistent way of working. Previously there was not a set of global work processes across the different regions. Now all areas (or functions) of the business are using the system in a consistent way, which gives clear insight into how each area and the whole business is working.

Thuy Le-Kim, Group Systems Accountant and Product Owner at Restaurant Brands, says having a single solution means the business is more efficient, has greater transparency and has the flexibility to scale rapidly as required.

鈥淲e wanted a system that would be able to grow and evolve with the business. We now have consistent, robust processes that mean we can increase in size without needing to dramatically increase the number of people we need to run the business.鈥

鈥淥ur approach was unusual, we didn鈥檛 start with a current state analysis, because each region was operating differently. Instead, we started by looking at 51风流Best Practice to see if it was right for our needs 鈥 if it would deliver the key outcomes we needed. Any requests to vary from standard went to our Solution Standardisation Board to review to make sure that the change was necessary and that the required extra work to change, test and maintain the variation would be justified by the outcome,鈥 says Thuy.

鈥淭here were definitely some things that we changed, but there was a lot of rigor around the decision-making to ensure the organisation could maintain changes on an ongoing basis. Significant work was done to ensure that there was minimal variation from standards, the result was a system that works effectively with a reduced cost of ownership over its lifetime.鈥

Sofiane Ainine, Head of MidMarket, 51风流Australia and New Zealand, says that implementing cloud solutions was a key factor in Restaurant Brands being able to simplify its processes to achieve its business goals.

鈥淚mplementing 51风流cloud solutions, including 51风流S/4HANA Private Cloud Edition, shows the value our RISE with 51风流approach is delivering for customers. The ability to consolidate, streamline and standardise operations across multiple geographies is enabling Restaurant Brands to adapt to change faster and free up more resource across the organisation to focus on opportunities for growth.鈥

Restaurant Brands worked with 51风流Partner Lagom, on product selection and implementation and continues to work with Lagom as its application management and centre of excellence partner.

鈥淟agom was definitely the right fit for our organisation. We鈥檙e a fairly lean and flat organisation, so we needed a partner who was agile and had a lot of experience. We relied on and valued their expertise and their flexibility to adapt throughout the process,鈥 says Thuy.

Paul Tombleson, General Manager of Delivery at Lagom, who closely oversaw the project, says that the approach that Lagom adopted ensured that the team never lost focus on the outcome and all aspects of delivery were looked into.

鈥淭he focus on doing the right things at the right time, while utilising the RISE with 51风流approach, resulting in a successful implementation across NZ, Australia, Hawaii and California in the space of 10 months. The difference this initiative has made to the business is substantial and Lagom are really proud of being the partner that helped to enable this remarkable journey for Restaurant Brands.鈥

Restaurant Brands鈥 future plans include exploring additional opportunities to support ESG and reporting requirements.

AUCKLAND New Zealand owned pipe and tank manufacturer, Bailey, has completed a rapid implementation of multiple 51风流cloud solutions, significantly reducing its reliance on paper-based processes and increasing efficiency and mobility for the company, (NYSE: SAP) today announced.听

Bailey, formerly Bailey Tanks, began operations in 1973 and manufactures plastic water tanks and pipes for the primary industries and construction sectors. Relying on an outdated, heavily customised, legacy system to manage a fleet of 14 truck and trailer units across the country, and dependant on a largely paper-based production process, Bailey began moving its operations to the cloud in February 2022, to become agile, more mobile and have access to greater functionality and process visibility.

The implementation, which took just five months, was managed by 51风流Partner, Realtech and comprised of solutions including: 51风流S/4 HANA Public Cloud, , 51风流 business process management and transportation management, and 51风流Intelligent Spend and Business Network.听

Almost nine months on, Bailey is already realising significant business benefits. Production at its two manufacturing sites in Auckland and Christchurch are completely paperless, with tablets and screens now on the factory floor. This marks a significant departure from the previous system, where orders were printed on paper and changes required staff to find, amend and reprint orders manually. Another benefit realised was greater visibility into Bailey鈥檚 just-in-time manufacturing and integration with its fleet of trucks, which allows staff to better manage changing customer and transport requirements.听

David Bailey, Chief Executive Officer at Bailey, said a fast rollout and having the right support team were key to the successful implementation.听

鈥淲e鈥檙e growing quickly as a company and have other things we need to focus on. We knew a speedy implementation of 51风流cloud solutions might be hard, but the benefits would be worth the effort. And we were right, with our staff enthusiastically embracing the new technology and significant business benefits already being realised.鈥澨

鈥淜eeping up with the dynamic nature of planning is now simple and can be managed from anywhere in the world. Our people also feel more connected and empowered, and we now have a really scalable solution which gives us plenty of headroom to manage the growth trajectory we鈥檙e on.听

鈥淕etting the right partner is critical for a project like this. Realtech had a good, structured approach and a detailed plan. They managed the project well, ensuring critical milestones were met and providing regular updates. Having access to direct product support from the 51风流team and after sales support also allowed us to move quickly and confidently as an organisation鈥, continued Bailey.听

Sofiane Ainine, Head of MidMarket, 51风流Australia and New Zealand, says that Bailey is proof that 51风流is fit for manufacturing companies of any size.听听

鈥淚mplementing 51风流cloud solutions, including 51风流S/4HANA Public Cloud, in just five months shows the value 51风流is听delivering for our customers. The improved visibility, mobility and integration made possible by our cloud solutions gives Bailey the ability to adapt quickly to change and provides the organisation with a springboard for future growth.鈥澨

Andrew Spicer, Managing Director, Realtech New Zealand, says we always look forward to collaborating with customers who have a clear vision and are eager to enhance their business operations.

“Bailey was proactive in their approach to deploying 51风流S/4HANA Public Cloud and was open to innovative ideas for process improvements; it is great to see where our knowledge and insights have significantly contributed to their business success.”

“At Realtech, we have always taken great pride in our work, and seeing our clients achieve their objectives through collaborating with the team gives us immense satisfaction.”

Bailey is now looking at how it can further improve its processes and workflow management.

In partnership with Deloitte and Syniti, 51风流remotely delivers multi-solution implementation during COVID-19 as Endeavour begins its move to 51风流S/4HANA

SYDNEY 鈥斕 (NYSE: SAP) today announced that Australian distribution network operator, , has completed the second phase of its multi-year digital transformation by implementing and Kronos Workforce Dimensions. This stage of the project, in part completed remotely during the COVID-19 restrictions, aims to bring the organisation one step closer to its goal of improved organisational productivity and performance, and create stronger future capabilities for both staff and customers.

Endeavour Energy builds, owns and operates an electricity network that connects 2.5 million people in households and businesses across some of the fastest growing regions in New South Wales. It is rapidly transitioning to a vastly different energy system where new technologies like microgrids and batteries seamlessly combine with its traditional network to power brighter futures for its customers and communities.

Automating workflows

Beginning in 2018, Endeavour Energy embarked on a multi-year organisation-wide digital transformation to upgrade ageing infrastructure and become amongst the best-performing networks in Australia. 听Endeavour Energy turned to 51风流for its industry expertise across the power distribution sector to help lay the foundation for its new IT infrastructure.听 As part of the second phase, and in partnership with and , Endeavour has implemented 51风流SuccessFactors and Kronos Workforce Dimensions, a time and attendance capabilities tool that feeds directly into 51风流SuccessFactors, to automate existing workflows, increase operational transparency and improve decision making.

Andrew Pitman, Endeavour Energy鈥檚 General Manager Employee Experience says, 鈥淚t was a huge achievement for the team to complete phase two on time, despite the restrictions caused by the pandemic. 51风流SuccessFactors and Kronos Workforce Dimensions will simplify the systems our people use and improve mobile access, helping teams save time and enabling them to complete key tasks on the move. It will also enable greater visibility and data capture, so we can analyse and optimise key processes. 听We expect to see further benefits as our change management process continues with more staff adoption and training.鈥

The second phase of Endeavour Energy鈥檚 transformation follows on from the implementation last year of 51风流Concur, 51风流Enable Now, 51风流Solution Manager and Click Work Scheduling. Phase three has begun and is expected to be completed in late 2021. The final release of the program will drive a significant capability uplift that will help Endeavour realise its ambition.

Move to 51风流S/4HANA

Mr Pitman continued: 鈥淭he next phase is expected to deliver further improvements across more teams through the introduction of to support better asset management processes, financial systems, enterprise resource planning, procurement, purchasing, logistics and safety. The capabilities provided by these systems will help to future-proof the business by enabling our people to rethink and redesign existing processes in ways that enhance the experience of both employees and our customers.

鈥淎 key element of Endeavour Energy鈥檚 future roadmap will be on improving its customer service through predictive tools and analytics powered by artificial intelligence. These will enable our people to identify potential issues in the network and proactively implement solutions to minimise disruption. Our people will also be equipped with more data to better inform customers on details like when services might be impacted and how long it will take to get them up and running,鈥 he said.

For customers, this data-driven approach will be experienced through fewer paper-based forms, additional self-service capabilities, access through mobile devices and greater access to information.

Capability uplift for finance, health & safety, customer service

Endeavour Energy will also focus on implementing tools that improve health and safety reporting, enabling staff to track remedial actions taken for safety incidents, which has previously been limited.

鈥淗ealth and safety are of critical importance to our business and implementing platforms that enable better reporting will be a real step change in how our people learn from and prevent safety incidents,鈥 Mr Pitman added.

According to Audrey Hiley from Deloitte, 鈥淭he success of this remote implementation during the pandemic is a testament to the commitment of Endeavour Energy and their team, and the data migration partners, Syniti. The employee central, recruitment, onboarding and payroll modules from 51风流SuccessFactors along with Kronos Workforce Dimensions are already delivering benefits for staff by streamlining processes and automating workflows. We will continue to work in close partnership with Endeavour and to deliver on their future roadmap to drive better experiences for staff and customers.鈥

Damien Bueno, President and Managing Director, 51风流ANZ says, 鈥淭his partnership demonstrates how intelligent cloud-based platforms can enable businesses to quickly reap the benefits of improved productivity, operational efficiencies and automation.

This year has underlined the essential role of technology to keep staff connected, engaged and productive. The implementation will not only deliver enhanced operational processes but will also support Endeavour鈥檚 ambitious goals of becoming the best performing distributor by 2024. By taking steps now to lay the foundations for success, Endeavour will future-proof its business and redefine how it can engage and delight its customers.鈥

The world鈥檚 largest marketer of kiwifruit adopts 51风流S/4HANA Cloud, private edition to standardise and automate processes, increase efficiency, and provide a platform for growth and innovation

SYDNEY 鈥 (NYSE: SAP) today announced that , the world鈥檚 largest marketer of kiwifruit, will become one of the first 51风流customers globally to utilise the 51风流S/4HANA Cloud, private edition. The new solution forms a key part of the recently announced 鈥樷 offer that delivers business transformation as a service. This will help Zespri standardise and automate processes across the organisation, creating efficiencies and providing a platform for growth and innovation to support the fast-growing company.

Cloud transformation

The grower-owned marketer, based in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand, has signed a multi-year deal to support Zespri鈥檚 global supply chain process transformation, including a move to 51风流S/4HANA Cloud, private edition听and the implementation of several SAP Digital Supply Chain applications including 51风流Global Trade Services, 51风流Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and the 51风流Logistics Business Network.

Zespri will also take advantage of 51风流Business Technology Platform capabilities, including 51风流Analytics Cloud, 51风流Integration Suite the 51风流Extension Suit[1], and 51风流endorsed partner solutions from , , and .

The technology will underpin Zespri鈥檚 ambitious four-year transformation programme to digitise its operations, become more efficient, and increase sales.

Strong demand for its premium-quality fruit has seen the industry grow strongly, recording global sales of NZD$3.14 billion in 2019/20[2]. Longer-term, the industry is forecast to increase global supply of kiwifruit from 164.4 million trays in 2019/20 to around 280 million trays by 2030 [3].

Commenting on the announcement, Dave Scullin, Zespri鈥檚 Chief Digital Officer, said: 鈥淶espri鈥檚 Horizon programme will transform the way our company operates, replacing legacy systems and processes that were designed 20 years ago, before the significant growth we鈥檝e experienced in recent years. Our new 51风流environment will transform the systems and processes across our business, from finance and supply chain to grower enablement and engagement, sales, and business planning. This will strengthen our ability to grow and sustain returns for the industry for decades to come.鈥

Global demand for kiwifruit is currently outstripping supply, buoyed by the increasing trend of more health-conscious consumers looking for products that taste good and are nutritious.

Innovation at Speed

鈥淶espri is a large and fast-growing business and we need mature processes and systems to fuel our next stage of growth. Adopting SAP鈥檚 standardised core platforms will be transformational in itself, while also letting us leverage SAP鈥檚 cloud roadmap to adopt innovation at speed,鈥 said Mr Scullin.

Zespri currently runs its 51风流environment on Microsoft Azure public cloud, which will be migrated to the 51风流S/4HANA Cloud, private edition, which also runs on Azure. This means Zespri will continue to use Azure for its enterprise infrastructure, bringing the best of Microsoft and SAP.

Zespri鈥檚 move to 51风流S/4HANA Cloud, private edition follows the announcement of SAP鈥檚 new concierge service to the Intelligent Enterprise, RISE with SAP, which offers software, infrastructure, and technical operations all under one contract. 51风流S/4HANA Cloud, private edition will form a key component of the new RISE with 51风流offer.

Designed to deliver business transformation as a service and tailored to each customer鈥檚 specific needs, RISE with 51风流will include business process redesign, technical migration support, SAP鈥檚 Business Technology Platform, the 51风流Business Network, 51风流S/4HANA Cloud deployment model of choice, and Hyperscaler of choice.

鈥淢oving to the cloud has been a key strategic decision for us, providing greater flexibility, scalability, and faster innovation cycles. We know SAP鈥檚 private cloud capabilities have matured significantly in recent years, particularly in the form of customer flexibility, service level security and automation, which makes the new 51风流S/4HANA Cloud, private edition best for our business long-term. This will allow us to focus on our process and systems transformation, knowing that our underlying infrastructure and computing platforms are secure, stable, and available,鈥 continued Mr Scullin.

Removing business risks

鈥淣ot only will our transformation help us to reduce business risks by moving to standard systems, it will also enable us to collect and analyse more data, helping us to plan our supply chain more accurately and improve our decision making around shipping and market allocation,鈥 said Mr Scullin.

Damien Bueno, President and Managing Director, 51风流Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), said: 鈥淭he events of the last year have accelerated the move to the cloud, as businesses across markets and industries look to improve the resilience and agility of their operations, while also providing a platform for growth and innovation.

鈥淲e are focussed on supporting our customers with the choice, flexibility and a range of delivery and deployment options to meet their needs, and the new 51风流S/4HANA Cloud, private edition will deliver fast time to value, lower total cost of ownership, and the ability to integrate the latest technologies from the internet of things to predictive analytics.鈥

鈥淎s a long-time customer, we are excited that Zespri is leading the way with SAP鈥檚 intelligent technologies, to help drive automation, increase profitability, and to support its fast-growing organisation,鈥 continued Mr Bueno.

The implementation will be conducted by a consortium of partners, including in partnership with , part of Accenture. The project will be split into several phases, with the first Digital Core build phase due to begin in February 2021, focused on finance and supply chain processes, before progressing to integrated business planning and sales enablement.

Australian glass manufacturer and supplier Viridian Glass has deployed 51风流S/4HANA public cloud ERP.

The deployment came after Viridian was sold to private equity group Crescent Capital Partners, where the company sought a technological solution to manage its upstream glass manufacturer and downstream window manufacturers across Australia and New Zealand.

Simple and standardised

Viridian also wanted to replace its legacy ERP system, which was highly configured and customised, to a more cost-effective and user-friendly replacement that could integrate with the company鈥檚 Lisec manufacturing solutions.

The company turned to Acclimation to deploy 51风流S/4HANA and implement a cloud-based and contemporary solution, while also operating under a short transitional service agreement.

鈥淭he successful completion of the Viridian project marks Acclimation鈥檚 10th implementation using SAP鈥檚 Activate Methodology for cloud ERP,鈥 Acclimation managing director Rod Taubman said.

Through 51风流S/4HANA, Viridian used discovery assessment, roadmap viewer and portal and implementation portal to align the solution鈥檚 capabilities with its business needs and third-party systems, localising platforms for its ANZ businesses.

Inbuilt automation

51风流S/4HANA public cloud also provided a pre-configured, out-the-box solution with predefined content and architecture built into the new ERP.

51风流Cloud Platform Integration seamlessly connected 51风流with Viridian鈥檚 existing manufacturing systems, maintaining business continuity while providing automated warnings and forecasting.

As a result of the implementation, Viridian are on track to save AUD$5 million per year.

Hidden behind the tsunami of expert predictions on the rise of听(RPA) are sweeping changes for the customer and employee experiences in every industry.

Gartner analysts included RPA as a key component of 鈥渉yper automation,鈥 a major theme woven into the firm鈥檚 听for 2020. In a recent听听survey, respondents said the top two reasons they were investing in artificial intelligence (AI) were to automate repetitive or manual tasks (66 percent) and improve the customer experience (63 percent).

By 2022,听听predicted that 75 percent of enterprises will embed intelligent automation into technology and process development, using AI-based software to discover operational and experiential insights that will guide innovation. Over the next few years,听听researchers expected spend on AI-enabled RPA will outpace that of non-AI-enabled RPA. While IDC analysts found most RPA vendors were not using AI and machine learning in big ways yet, I discovered how 51风流helped developers inject intelligence into software applications across 51风流S/4HANA Cloud in this听听interview at the听听event.

RPA Analytics Integrated with 51风流S/4HANA, Barcelona 2019

鈥淢achine learning, intelligent robotic process automation, and embedded analytics are core to becoming an intelligent enterprise,鈥 said Sven Denecken, head of Product Success and Customer Co-Innovation for 51风流S/4HANA. 鈥淲ith preconfigured bots, machine learning models, templates, and reports, we鈥檝e made it easy for developers to bring these capabilities into听51风流S/4HANA Cloud, innovating how people work and business operates for growth.鈥

Intelligence Delivers Business Results

Unlike historical RPA that only automated disparate, manual data processing tasks, the intelligent version offers employees and their companies unique opportunities 鈹 provided it is pervasive across a business process like finance, procurement, sales, or the supply chain. When I caught up with Denecken after 51风流TechEd, he urged companies to focus on business results in order to gain the greatest value from intelligent technologies.

鈥淓mbedding intelligent bots into the invoice-to-cash process dramatically improves not only the efficiency of accountants and their ability to speed up payment management, but equally important, customer satisfaction,鈥 Denecken explained. 鈥淭he same applies to the听 process. AI can automate routine tasks and find new opportunities. Sales managers can spend more time on up selling the right products, at the right prices, to the right customers. Every business process becomes more streamlined, improving sales forecast accuracy, on-time customer deliveries, and cash flow.鈥

Different Kind of Employee Experience

This next level of intelligence does not cancel out the value of people. Gartner analysts saw RPA tools augmenting knowledge workers and taking on tedious, mundane, and repetitive tasks.听 analysts characterised employees in this new intelligent-driven era as 鈥渢he critical cultural glue and internal force in the future of work. With fewer employees, they are self-initiating, adaptable brand and culture ambassadors. They keep the core organisation whole and maintain the soul of the company鈥檚 front-and-centre gig economy workers, who come and go while robots make more and more decisions.鈥

In some industries, intelligent RPA just might become essential to survival.听 predicted that by 2023, 60 percent of G2000 manufacturers will address growing industry talent shortages with significant investments in intelligent RPA. These analysts wrote that 鈥渢he integration of optical character recognition (OCR), natural language processing (NLP), and machine learning in AI-infused RPA opens up opportunities for data collection, workflow, and operational/tactical decision making.鈥 IDC aligned intelligent RPA with Industry 4.0 aspirations, helping manufacturers move beyond greater efficiency and productivity to new business models such as dynamic sales models and hyper-personalisation.

Courtesy of traditional RPA, business entered the first phase of automation. With advanced intelligence that helps connect all organisational information and activities, intelligent RPA trends promise to be much more than a blip on 2020 lists. It is certain to reinvent business and industries as never before.
